Just got a Abit IP35-E and it just wont POST.

I have an E6300 and 2gb transcend 533mhz ram.

First I thought that as its an 1333 board it might require 667mhz ram. borrowed 1gb 667mhz stick from a friend still no desired result. removed CMOS battery for about 15 mins and still it doesn't POST.

Do I need to update the bios because its on its default one and if yes then how will I update it  ?

Had the same problem. Started with 533MHz RAM, no POST. Waited patiently for 800MHz RAM to arrive, and it worked!

try clearing the bios.... not by removing the CMOS battery but the jumper settings from 1-2 to 2-3 ... put the jumper to 2-3 and start the system, the system wont power on that means its correctly reset.. shut the system down.. put the jumper to 1-2 (original position) and start the system..

Does the Board LED even light up when connected to the SMPS.... a red LED will glow when the board is connected.....

Could try RMA if nothing helps.....

PS : - Which Gfx card are you using with the board ??

Thanks Guys for all your prompt suggestions. I think the cpu was not seated properly.

I reseated the cpu and applied mx-2, and bios loads with numerous beeps..... somehow I load into windows and updated the bios through Abit's Bios flash utility and now everything's A-OK.

Oc'ed to 3ghz easily on this :D
