three opinions:

congrats, great buy & enjoy

:P

how much are you paying & where is it available?

nVidia drivers don't support SLI on a non-nVidia chipset. The chipset is capable of doing it, and there are ways around it, but the driver license doesn't allow it.

sangram...having read both the brickbats and the bouqets what do you think might be the real picture ?

lol isnt the brickbat guy expecting way too much out of da board ? 1 star for stability, are you kidding me !!

Abit has always had issues with their BIOS when they release boards. I am sure they'll sort it out in time, but I would not personally buy a board hoping the BIOS would mature. I will buy when there is a perfectly working BIOS that allows me to go into the BIOS in the first place. Without that basic functionality, I would not even rate it on stability - 1 star is a compliment, in my book.

This is not unusual, not for Abit, Asus or Intel (I have personal experience with the last two - The Intel case is documented on these very forums, and only with the sixth BIOS revision was I able to use the board correctly) nor any other mainstream manufacturer. Abit had licked it with the IP35-Pro and E, both boards came out all guns blazing, with fast and stable BIOS out of the box. Looks like that was a flash in the pan. If you look at the history of board manufacturers, it is normal to release a somewhat working board and provide bugfixes and performance improvements through regular BIOS updates.

The second thing that irritates me no end is the lack of the fan clips and the USB bracket, and the sorry excuses that Sean gave for them (you have to follow a few links to find what I'm talking about) not being in the packaging.

It looks like a good board overall though, and it's available at an excellent price point. I would forgive the partial bundle if the board shipped with a functional BIOS.

Edit: In case it is not clear as to the reason for the brickbats, the Abit makes a big deal about 'Quad', but actually stumbles badly when it comes to operating with Quad Core processors. That was the source of irritation that the reviewer felt, and rightly so.
