I spent several weeks in Bombay/Mumbai in 1993-4 and in 2007-08. Its proximity to the sea regulates the temperature to a fairly narrow range but the humidity makes it uncomfortable for those who are not used to it. And the salty air will contribute significantly to its corrosive nature. My Zotac 1050 died after 5.5 years. ( It worked for few hours after heating in microwave)
Cant blame zotac though, we have very high humidity in Mumbai and back then i never cleaned dust. Lots of oxidation damage on that board.
I doubt it. It doesn't mean that everything will die in 5.5 years but there's a good chance that the high humidity and salt will eventually damage any product if they are not properly looked after.Dunno if a better card would have done better.
yeah, i am about 6km away from coastline so salt in air is likely not a factor. High humidity is, esp in monsoon, but now i am managing that better.I spent several weeks in Bombay/Mumbai in 1993-4 and in 2007-08. So far, the Asus Dual 6600XT has worked well and not given me any problems. The cooling system is exceptionally effective; even in the hottest city, the temperature remains below 60°C.Dont buy ASUS cause their service is atrocious. Had RTX 3050 with component failure after just just 1 half years of use.
TRULY HORRID COMPANY @ 45:57 in video CID (Customer Induced Damage) their favourite excuse not to fulfil warranty. They tried this with me too.So far, the Asus Dual 6600XT has worked well and not given me any problems. Water has a high thermal capacity. It absorbs a lot of heat during the day, especially in summer. It releases that trapped heat at night and in the cold season. Air absorbs very little heat directly from the sun's rays. It is cooled by evaporation from the surface of the sea in summer. In winter, there's less evaporation, so less cooling. The warmth released by the sea is carried inland by air currents. We do have temps in a narrow band most of the time, did not know it was due to sea.
I have the same card !! it runs unbelievably cool and the build quality is top notch ... coming from rtx 3080 fe space heater this is one of stark changes i have seen .. have also undervolted it at 900mv at 2950mhz ..also got doom dark ages with it and registered for 3+1 year extended warranty ... same like gigabyte.I have a Colorful iGame 5070 Ti ultra w OC and let me tell you the build quality is great, card remains very cool and never goes beyond 65 degrees while gaming on stock settings(ambient temp currently is 40 degrees). On my particular card the LED lighting and software is great. Although lower end cards might compromise on quality but my card runs great in every aspect and has great silicon quality, I currently have it UV'ed to 850mV at 2700 mhz without any stability issues and the card temp hovers around 60 degrees while gaming with power draw around 200 watts(original card TDP is 300W).
