PC Peripherals About Razer Warranty Period..

@bottle: Will get in to touch with them soon and will update it.

@tkin: Ya Logitech 3 Years.

AFAIK Logitech also gives 5 years warranty on its higher end products (e.g. MX3200 Combo).

I don't know how many people read previous post, but I'll summarize.

Even if the distributor here does not honour the 2 year warranty period, Razer will ship a replacement to you and the process should get over in a week max. At least that was the case with my Deathadder.

All that is needed is email contact with razer support. In my case I was in contact with Razer US.

I'd say this process is much more pain free as no service center/distributor comes in the middle, so no round trips for replacement.

Some people wouldn't prefer paying for the shipping charges and maybe later paying for customs, especially for a product that is bought officially in India. The replacement procedure will be cleared once I have a word with the concerned person and will make a strong point that dealers/distris have to be very clear of the replacement policy to the buyers.

I didn't pay a dime. No shipping or customs. Razer did that.

But the point is valid. It should be clear how much warranty is provided, and distributors should follow it.

The curse of the Deathadder strikes back! The newer 3.5g version also suffers from the dreaded 'single click being registered as a double click' issue. Since the past two days, I have been facing the problem when single clicking a folder goes into it or any media file plays instantly when single clicked. And yesterday it has become severe. :(

So how do I go about with the RMA? Should I be contacting Razer's support or one of the Indian importers? It was purchased during August 2010 from Sunish, The IT Bazaar.

^I think you should contact the Indian distributor for RMA. IIRC razer support would ask for a razer store order number to process warranty

But turns out Mohit got a replacement by directly contacting them? From Sg shipped via FedEx. Anyhow I've sent them a mail. Let us see how it goes.

PS: All the 3 DA variants retail for the same price - 60USD. Wouldn't mind the Dragon Age II edition as a replacement. :gap:

^Yeah I have RMA'd 2 mice that way (cutting cord). The 2nd was a DA that had only 2 months warranty left out of the 2 years

And yet we continue to be loyal Razer customers. :(

Shouldn't these guys be changing that switch inside to something more robust? So that it lasts at least 3~4 years. I hear there is some DIY workaround using WD40 but it is very depressing to see that a good mice getting pwned in no time.

So bootli, was yours shipped from Sg as well? And no customs paid yeah?

As long as they keep shipping with FedEx priority I think no one should have a problem.

Always better to get a new replacement directly from the company :)

After cutting the cord I just soldered it again, and strangely the double click issue was gone so I have a free backup :D

Yeah SG. 1st one came without customs, 2nd one got hit by customs, think I had to pay 600rs.

edit. yeah

268+ tax plus 300 fedex charge for a mouse that was declared a value of $15

my deathadder 3500 is also driving me nuts with this double click issue , mailed razer support last night and this is the response i got
Hello Utsav,

Please try exchanging the product with the retailer / distributor directly. Retailers have been informed they should handle the customer RMA/Exchange process. Shipping logistics are handled by the local distributors, so going to the retailer will be the quickest and easiest way to obtain an exchange.

For any reason the retailer / distributor is unable to assist you, please reply back to us with the name and contact information of the person you spoke with. This will enable us to quickly work with the authorized retailer / distributor to better assist you in this process.

Please refer to case #:: 40211**** if you have any further questions.

I also got this response from them.

That time I had told them that "I talked to the authorized dealer but they are saying that the warranty is of 1 year only. Please advise."

Suggest you send something similar.
