yea it is afaik. it's no big deal though. nothing great about it. even the visual effects are slowly feeling like bloatware imo lol. too bad, i expected the UI to give me some workflow enhancements.

i didnt understand the quoted thing up

build 6000 is release to manufacture if i recall correctly which means it's 'final' but not exactly 'retail' as MS hasn't officially gone retail with it as yet. about my comment above.. well im just saying that the visual effects don't do anything that's really functional imo. sure that flip3d is cool to look at it but it gets old after a while. overall it doesn't seem very different from xp except of course for the look but the most important thing is that RAM management seems much better in vista. navigating through folders seems a lot quicker and everything just seems snappy compared to xp.

There is more to Vista than just visual effects bro. Microsoft didnt spend billions of dollars in r&d just to give a better UI. The entire networking tcp/ip implementation in vista is all under the hood, u dont see it dont mean there is nothing more than ui to it.

that's true. the more i use it, the more i find stuff 'under the hood' which is useful but i did not say that there was nothing more than the UI to it :). i just mentioned that the UI seems to be only a visual gimmick so far and doesn't really do anything to help your workflow like Mac OS X's Expose does.

Been using it for sometime.OS seems to me very smooth, did a video stress test of HL2 Lost coast and got a score 20.33fps with my 6600GT with 1gig RAM with following settings 1024x768res, 4xAF, 2x AA, vsync off, HDR on, color correction enabled, Reflect all selected, rest of the settings to high. Where as I got a score of 38.8 in XP in same settings.

Once the official drivers r released the scores may boost upto 35 somethin"!!
