On another note, is the laptop made by HP? Then (depending on the generation) you may need to remove the whitelist before installing a third-part card.

No bud, like you correctly identified before. It’s a ASUS x550jx. I’d been wanting to upgrade the wifi card, and was wondering if there are any AC options for Half Mini PCIe form factor. Just to make it a bit future proof. Considering this form factor is now going to be less prevelant owing to the shift in industry standard.
I was thinking it’s a good time to upgrade the card.

Hi guys, please note Intel Cards with CRF(Companion RF) written on it are not entire wifi cards- they depend on 8th gen or something intel cpu's CNVio support & won't run on AMD chips and old intel chips. Latest in the series AX200/AX210 are non CRF, you can check all on ark.intel.com (Wifi: PCI-E, BT: USB it should say) , not M.2:CnvIO
