Hello friends, yesterday i had a great experience of installing an AC ACCELERO S1 rev 2 (bought from KMD):hap2: on my 8800GT.
So I thought about sharing my experiences and initial results in a short article. This is my first review on TE, so it may b erroneous at times.

I recieved the cooler on saturday in a neatly packed carton, and opened it ASAP to reveal the cooler and other components ordered frm KMD in absolute spotless condition:hap2:

I knew that the ACCELERO doesnt carry the necessary VRM heatsinks for a G92GT as AC claims that the board doesnt need any, yet out of scepticism I went out to gather a few stuff needed to make my own heatsinks for the VRMs.

Finally evrythng was put on the table by sunday morning and i pulled out the card frm my system.

PROCESS:

I unscrewed all the nuts and the stock cooler came off easily (do keep in mind to unplug the fan cable).
Used some spirit and tissue paper to clean off the thermal paste frm the chip, ram and VRMs......the memory and VRMs needed to b additionally rubbed with an eraser thorougly to remove the slippery residues.
Pasted all the supplied RAM HEATSINKS in place(glue preapplied)....u just need to press each sink down firmly for about 30 seconds and they would stick fine.
Now i used a saw to handcraft:ohyeah: 4 heatsinks for the VRMs out of the provided ATI VRM heatsink......this part was pretty tough and took me a lot of time and evn resulted in some bloodshed:@
After all the heatsinks were stuck firmly in place, i took out the ACCELERO frm its pack, put it upside down and stuck the necessary spacers on the retention mechanism after alligning it to the cards mounting holes.
Then I slowly lowered the card onto the cooler only to notice that one of the RAM heatsinks was coming in the way of a heatpipe:no:
I had to carefully rip off the problematic heatsink, cut it to size and replace it again.
Once that was done, i mounted the cooler with the help of 4 screws and the plastic retention mechanism provided and atlast got a perfect fit.
Installed the TURBO MODULES and installed the card back into my system. Had to remove the side panel 120mm intake fan on my CM690 to accomodate the ACCELERO:no:
RESULTS:

Now comes the sweet part:D , with room temperatures hovering around 35c nowadays on stock cooling my card would easily peak at around 80c with 60% fanspeed that too at stock clocks. Increasing the fanspeed to 90% helped a bit but the cooler became awefully loud.

With the ACCELERO S1 in place the card idles at ~ 45c-46c and peaks at an amazingly low 56c-57c with a bump of 50mhz on the core:clap:
Ran ATI TOOL ARTIFACT SCANNING, played COD-4 MP and GRID DEMO for 30 mins to an hour each and the card would not go above 56c-57c, that too with almost silent operation. Infact the TURBO MODULES are not audible over my system fans:D
Softwares used to measure temperatures were: RIVATUNER, HWMONITOR and ATI TOOL.
CONCLUSIONS:

PROS:
1)Cheap....very cheap
2)Pleasant looks and good design
3)Very effective and ultra silent
4)Just takes up a single additional PCI slot

CONS:
1)Not 100% compatible with G92 cards as AC claims, needs a painful lot of DIY work.
2)Wont fit in all cases, make sure u hav the right case before u plan on this.
3)Blocks a SATA port on my 650i
4)Build quality could have been better

Good review for a start. :)

Next time include the packaging, use imageshack/imgx to upload pics, include more pics, clear pics, let the pics and wordings go in co-ordination, use pages for different sections, include a small intro etc.

Repped. :)
