If all you wanna do is run utorrent then the webui is the best possible solution..

I used to have utorrent+dyndns running as my solution and it was as smooth as it could get

Yo spimmer, talk in layman's terms. Give me the link for the stuff and guide me a bit please. :P

do you have a dynamic ip?
if so, do you have a router at your place..?
if so, check if it has inbuilt support for some dynamic dns service..?
(look in the config pages for ddns/dynamic dns...)
if "dyndns" is listed, things will be much simpler...
goto DynDNS.com: DNS Hosting, E-mail Delivery, VPS Hosting and Other Services and create an account..
do the necessary config in your router..
now your router will keep updating dyndns about changes in your ip.
you will get a url when you create a dyndns account...something like "xxxxxx.dyndns.org"

just typing this from an external computer should remotely log you on to your routers config page...

in utorrent settings, enable webui and set a username and pass.
dont use alternate port for listening (in webui control panel)
make sure your regular utorrent port is forwaded correctly and you get the "green dot"

type in "xxxxxxxxxx.dyndns.org:<utorrent port>/gui/"
without the quotes..

Tried logmein.com trial version but could not get it working yet.

Error: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. (1326) :(

Tried disabling Firewall but to no avail. Their community has also come up with some solution but could not get it working yet.

@alsiladka: Did you try this with Win 7 yet?

Havn't tried it on Windows 7 yet.
The username and password it requires are your Windows User Account username and password. Even that doesn't work?

^Nope, I tried. Their community has had ~ problems but has come up with a solution. Have to try that out sometime.

+1 for teamviewer. Just run the server in your taskbar. All you need is a client program on the second PC and can connect to your PC using some username/password it will assign.

It worked! :O

Installed and gave a specific ID. Entered this ID from a friend's comp. Could easily access it.

w00t. . :ohyeah:
