I am going to purchase 5738 by tommorrow. I am confused by different models of 5738 available. i want one with windows 7 home premium installed , whts its exact model no and price?
 
Don't buy the 5738 now. Instead get the 5740 which costs almost same but comes with i3 processor. Btw, what is your budget and where are you from ?
 
I think most of the 5738 models are now coming with Windows 7 installed. Got one for a friend about a month back and that was 5738z which came with Windows 7 Home premium, for about 31k with lots of accessories.
 
Thnx for ur suggestions. THe model i was aiming was one with core 2 duo proccy, 3gb ram, 320 hd, windows7home premium. I was quoted 35 k for it.
Another model 5738z which has intel pentium proccy was for 32 k . Rest specs were same. Can i get 5740 with i3 proccy for 35 k ? I m based in delhi btw.

An ACER 5738 with Core 2 Duo T6600 + 4GB RAM + Win 7 HP comes much less than 35k this days. You can certainly get 5740 with i3 within 35k if you want Win 7 Home Premium pre installed. The processor and graphics performance are much better.

5738which i had seen has 3 gb RAM not 4GB.
 
i have checked price on various sites including ebay 5740 costs around 40k with windows 7 HP and 5738 35k.
 
where in mumbai can i get acer 5740? if anyone finds it pm me asap. does acer allow to upgrade warranty, if so then how much will it cost for additional 2yrs wrty.
5738 can play 720p videos via hdmi without any jerks but it wont play 1080p properly (i've tested it on a friends lappy).
