Hi Guys,

I am planning to buy a laptop; i want to use this for both Gaming and Office use.

Which one is the best of these, I am planning to use this laptop for at least some 3 years.
Please suggest me the pros and cons of both.
Acer Aspire 5738G
Intel C2D T6400 (2.0) GHZ, Intel GM45, 2MB/800MHZ FSB, 4GB DDR3, 320 GB HDD, nVidia GeForce 512MB VRAM, DVD Writer – 41,200

Dell Studio 15,
Intel C2D T6500 (2.1)GHZ, Intel GM46 2MB/800MHZ FSB, 4GB DDR2, 320 GB HDD, 512 MB ATI Radeon HD 4570, DVD writer – 45,700

Thanks in advance,

I have an Acer Aspire series laptop and though its build quality is decent, comparatively Studio 15 build quality is definitely better. If you can afford to spend extra 4K, it is better to go for Dell (For their On-site service).

oh daam no way studio 15 sucks big time in quality ask any studio 15 owners. so guys come out of previous dell and look at new dell with studio 15 which is complete mess along with new xps series and forgot to mention. The biggest mess aweful staff

go with Dell Studio 15 eyes closed.

HD4570 would be around > 150% faster over G45 in gaming..

Other option is HP Pavilion DV6-1110ax @ 47k. It Supports AMD Turion X2 RM-74 along with HD4650..:)

Acer has got Nvidia G 105M i guess.

Anyways, HD4570 is still wayy faster than G 105M. (almost twice as fast)

Opinion: Dell Studio , but beware of overheating issues in some models..

^^Acer 4xxx series had alot of build quality issues while Acer 5xxx are known to have decent build quality.

Similarly Dell Studio 15 is also known t have build quality issues.

Its really a tough decision which depends upon your preference.. Let me add a nice option in between a Office laptop and very casual gaming laptop:

New Inspiron 14: T4200, HD4330, 2GB DDR2: Rs. 31900 + Tax + Delivery

Laptop tax should be 4% i guess or is it 12.5% !?

Thanks for all the replies, after reading the reviews on ATI radeion i am thinking to go with DELL studio 15.

How is studio 15, what are the problems we are facing with this model?

Please share your reviews.

Thanks in advance,

:hap2:I think if you are looking for Gaming purpose as well I would recommend Acer too. Nvidia Ge Force is made for Gamers.

Sorry but Ati HD4570 still whips Nvidia G 105M 512MB's Aas :P

So dell is worth the money, BUT you have to check with the overheating issues.

Yes, i have read the reviews about the ATI Radeion HD 4570, its almost 150% better then the nVidia GEForce M105 GPU. Now my mind is turning towards DELL [:)]

Any body have faced the overheating problem?

Is there any heating problem with the Acer 5738G?

Thanks in advance,
Kooldude

I have no idea about acer. but yes dell studio heats up while gaming. another this i dont think so any kind of build quality is dell studio 15. do you think is there any build quality in studio 15. because all money has gone for config dell has cut cost big time on quality and looks.
