i buyed acer laptop 5740g with 1 gb ati mobility radeon hd 5650 graphics card at 23rd feb .

but i am getting screens like this while playing counter strike / gta or even sometimes at windows and even playing high definiton videos , or you can say anything graphics related .

the laptop is only 2 days old .

edit:- the gpu temperature according to gpu-z is always above 50 degree and when i play games it goes to 60+ , i dont think 50-60 is normal gpu temperature .

yesterday i took it to acer mall dealer from where i buyed it , he talked on phone with some boss acer service guy and got replied from the boss that maybe the lcd is faulty , but i told the acer mall guy that printscreen is taking the pictures so its not an lcd fault as printscreen takes snapshot directly from vga and not from lcd . the acer mall guy agreed but took my laptop and told me that he is sending the laptop to get tested and will report me today .

what if after testing they found that there is no problem with the laptop , as this screen comes after 4-5 minutes or sometimes after an hour but while playing games it comes frequently and while playing high definiton movies it keeps flashing in between , even in windows it comes as you can see the screenshot .

^^ but it has warranty , will they replace it ?

how do i convince them to replace it ?
i am waiting for 2.30pm today . and btw the guy didn't asked the password so how will they test it ? hardware testing ?

tell me something that the guy will agree to replace it , some bulletproof reason . As you can see i dont want to use a newly faulty laptop . what if other things are faulty too !

Nothing to worry brother . Its your GPU ' s memory that was already bad and is going worse . Your gpu is dying

Just take it to your dealer . They will replace it

you will have to show the main guy in charge of the warranty (replacement) the part/time when it gives error. That seems to be the only way out.

^^are the acer mall guys in charge of warranty ? (i bought it from acer mall)

^^the acer mall guys are telling that they are testing the laptop and will give it on monday , then also should i register problem to acer national call center ?

Have Patience , you need to give them atleast a few days before resorting to other means. What if its a driver issue ?

It is called Artifacting and yes it is indeed GPU related.
Since it is only 2 days old, no power in the world can stop you from replacing it for free.

Infact i would pester them a bit more to give something extra for free for your troubles.

50 to 60*c for laptop GPU is pretty normal.Mine goes above 90 somtimes even 95.. this is abnomral.. but considering history of my laptop i jus bought a cooling pad, just in case.

If you are worried about the temperature even after getting replaced, get laptop cooler.
Peace~

acer mall guys are telling that on monday they will tell me about the laptop test.

i asked the guy to replace , he told that he should get permission from acer than only he could replace it , what permission is he talking about ?

what should i do guys ? just tell them to replace it immediately ? i had given them the laptop at 26th feb (buyed at 23rd feb) . tomorrow i will get the status .

yes ask for full replacement... if a laptop does not function properly after 2 days of purchasing, u just got a lemon.. u can demand them to replace it for a new one.

That permission excuse is just bull, just demand that it needs to be replaced, if you insist enough they will do it for sure.
Peace~

@rajeshjsl

Did Acer raise any support request etc mentioning the problem and date when this started. You need a clear log and report (with all the updates) that are either sent to mail or logged on their support channel. This helps if you want to take an action on them at a later stage.

Just make sure they put everything in records and have patience.
