Some people are conveniently trying to evade the pics rules by giving some silly reasons.
They will say- "pics tomorrow/later when i have cam" or " pics tomorrow/later when i am at home", etc etc
I say " then post the thread tomorrow/later too" :bleh: when you have the pics uploaded or have overcome God Damn whatever reason you don't have pics now.
By posting the thread, they set the sale in motion and hope to cash in on offers from those who respond via PMs even if the thread is locked. :no:
Some sellers are known to post their contact info mainly coz they are not gonna bother about the thread and manage the sale as and when they get contacted via their personal mailbox/IM or phone.
It's not the importance of the pics so much as the lameness of these perpetrators. :cool2:
Some people will always find a reason to oppose ruiles or try to find ways to bypass them. :no:
I say from now on, threads w/o pics be 'Trashed' after a warning and small time limit unless they respond to the warning and post pics within an hour or so (so that newbies can be saved a bit).
A possible remedy maybe restricting images in Market to a TE image server and not letting the thread get posted unless one has "actual" images following all rules.
Anyone posting the thread with lame pics (maybe from rig gallery) or old saved pics without the note or off the net to get through this necessity will be in direct violation of rules and such a person's sale thread deserves to be trashed on sight anyways- but maybe given an hour to rectify. :cool2:
Mods cannot be online all the time and genuine members posting genuine requirements/rules should notbe looked down upon too.
Rather spend that energy doing the needful- following the rules i.e.. :)
 
I suggest a 24hr time frame in which they must post pics after initiating the sale.

Some ppl might be in the office/away from home when they make up their mind to sell off something. So, they must be given time IMHO.

But like i said earlier- why not post the thread when it meets all the requirements. :)
Hmmm... but a newbie may post and disappear for some hours- possible. hmmm...

So have to make room for them maybe.
But one learns what not to do better while riding a cycle when they fall off it while learning- and some don't learn all their life coz they got lucky and never fell. :P
 
bahh.. 24hrs is MORE than enough time for most chaps to finalize a deal.. you get to see a lotta deals getting wrapped up within hours.

as long as a person does not have pics, TRASH the thread. only in case the person is a noobie new joinee or something, give him a lil bit of leeway.

and bikey dada... even having a restriction like uploading pics to TE server can be easily bypassed. anyone can easily upload a blank jpg made in paint :p
 
Yup, If i see any more threads without pics, they are going straight to dustbin. No locking, no warning. Enough of this BS. Enough notices, announcements, stickes, warnings have been put up.

Some people are of the opinion that why take the trouble of posting pics when it's gonna sell for sure anyways- now or a bit later.

I have already covered that in my first post.
Since it's a direct violation of the rules and on purpose- trash the thread immediately and infraction to newbies and maybe a temporary 'full TE' ban for old members. :devil2:

yeah.. have some sorta limitation.. if someone is an 'old' enough member give em a temp market ban

i do support Bikey's suggestion..there are lot of thread in market section with excuses like i dont have a camera ..etc
..maybe if it's a newbie they should be give 12/24 hrs of time to post the pics

or else if it's possible we can do something like-

when a member is about to create a new market thread there should be a small note regarding the new rule ..or a link to rules and regulation page.

if required we can even have option where member will have to select if he accepts the rules and regulations and has attached the requirements.:P

and incase some creates a thread even after reading and accepting it but not following the guidelines.

O/T posts cleared. There was already a huge debate in an old thread on whether or not to include this rule and it was done and dusted with so please stop kicking up that old issue over and over again

@Bikey , I think Funky has already replied to your query so closing this for now.

@everyone else, thanks for the feedback and we will see how we can try to improve the system
