Activate your Whatsapp Voice calling

Anyone got it working on wifi? I don't have data plan as I remain at home always.

I'm using it on Wifi itself, it sometimes happens that the first call (the activation call) may not go through wifi, only then I suggest Mobile data, but that's a rare case and we can check on Wifi for you.

Mine was activated when mine was on WiFi. Still able to use it on both WiFi/Data. Ping me ur number I'll call u.

They won't. They would think that it's a malware or similar thing and not download it. And those who will don't have good internet. Would have to invite them to install at my place first.

Use it while it lasts., I don't think TRAI will lock it because we already have Hike, Viber and skype functioning on the same lines, it's not that you are able to call on landlines or feature phones with whatsapp.

Airtel/Vodafone might introduce Data Packs which will allow Whatsapp and normal data packs won't allow this stuff as this will eat into a massive chunk of Voice call Revenue which is the major cash cow for our low ARPU telcos.

yes, that may happen but then all the ho halla on "Net neutrality" may also yield some fruits, Not every telecom will follow. I'm sure Reliance and tata will not introduce any such plans. Only Airtel and Voda are the bloodsuckers

The update is already live on Play Store so tell them to update officially.

Do we need to have our cell rooted to work this? My cell isnt rooted.
My whatsapp ver is 2.11.476.

Also do we need to do this for every ver. upgradre?
