Activate your Whatsapp Voice calling

Do we need to have our cell rooted to work this? My cell isnt rooted.
My whatsapp ver is 2.11.476.

Also do we need to do this for every ver. upgradre?

ROOT IS NOT NEEDED, you need to update your app, it's available officially on playstore and then you can pm your mobile number to me or @karankapoor and we can activate

Just a query here. A friend of mine has updated his whatsapp to 2.12.7 but when I try to call him it says "needs to update". I have been able to call my other friends but not this one. Lollipop or some version is required for this to work?

he got the play store version. That did not work. So I asked him to go to whatsapp's site and get the newer apk cause the thread said 2.11.561+ that did not work too.

The thread doesn't say 2.11.561+ but it says 2.11.561 & above anyhow ask your friend to install 2.11.561 and you can try again.

Huh? now you are getting just spouting semantics. 2.11.561+ means "2.11.561 & above".

Edit: tried with 2.12.7 again. Doesn't work. Seems requires Lollipop or something.

2.11.561 is just to be on the safe side, this is what the websites have posted. if suppose it doesn't activate on the lower version then people like @sharktale1212 will try to find faults with us, arey are we getting anything in this? we are just trying to help. if it doesn't work on higher versions then downgrade it if you want the facility else leave it and be happy.
