Adding an IR Remote to Raspberry Pi Media Center or Home Theatre

Hardware Needed
Raspberry Pi
IR Receiver (such as TSOP38238)
Any IR Remote

Pi supports hdmi cec, all Samsung and Sony tvs support the same, it means that tv remote can control pi via hdmi, no need of adding extra sensors.
The thing even works on raspbian!

Pretty obvious, if you have CEC, no need for an IR sensor.
My series 6 Samsung doesn't have CEC
