Hi. I want to buy an Android phone within a strict budget of 15K. Please suggest a phone based on these requirements:

Version: 2.1 (should support 2.2/2.3 via root)
Processor: should be able to run live wallpaper (at least through over-clocking)
Camera: 5 MP (front-facing is bonus!) with flash (autofocus is preferred)
Screen: Capacitive touch (higher the resolution, better), should be big enough!
Multimedia: Should be good for music, must have FM.
Connectivity: GPRS, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth with A2DP, 3.5 mm audio jack.
Storage: Should support high capacity memory card.
*Looks: should be good-looking, black coloured!

Model I have on mind: HTC Wildfire (HTC | GSMArena)

Please suggest a phone based on these requirements. My MOTO ROKR E6e isn't as good now as it used to be :(

@Srirama - LG Optimus One and Galaxy 3 don't have a 5MP cam.

@abhi - HTC Wildfire is the only one with a 5mp cam in your budget. Good luck with the purchase.

If you are ok with forgoing that requirement, then LG Optimus One, Galaxy 3 and even Dell XCD35 are worth considering. I'd even recommend looking for a refurbished or a brand new Moto Milestone (if you know someone in the US) for around 16-17k (17k for a brand new in the US).

@Srirama: Thanks for the suggestions but dint like the looks of both of them!

@laemo: I loved the Milestone when it came out but it broke my heart when I found that it does not have FM! I thought of Motorola Quench XT5 but dint like the protruding trackball. Now I am thinking of getting Motorola Defy. I can order an unlocked version from Uniqbe but should I? The general review about that site is good though!

@DigitalDude: Thanks HTC Aria/Gratia looks cool but couldn't find their prices anywhere. GSMArena suggests they are costly though and quite possibly out of my budget!

@all: Any place in Bangalore where I can get Motorola Defy Black? If not, please give your opinions on Uniqbe.

I've used smg-gsm.com to buy my phone (HTC Desire EUR) when it came out I highly recommend them, but then I got it shipped to US, not directly to India - so your mileage may vary.

I guess if radio + 5mp cam are both important then go with HTC Wildfire. I'd personally recommend T-mobile MyTouch 3G slide, but that too doesn't have a radio. That and Milestone are probably the best phones around your budget.

Here are all the phones that fit the above criteria and cost around $400 or less:

The Wildfire has an odd resolution. I dunno if it has problems with apps though.
Yes it has some problems with apps. Skype did not work properly with it, but i think its improved now. Angry birds also does not work on QVGA. Not sure abt other apps
