Hi...I am looking for a super laptop...budget is 80k...can be streched...should be able to do some serious rendering, gaming on it....
Have option of getting it from U.S. too...
any suggestions???

^ NO ! , 1730 has severe heat issues and i believe its gonna be EOL soon. its being sold for a measly $999 in the states atm . Its a really old model and not worth buying over its competitors in the segment.

if buying from states is an option , do take a look at the gateway, alienware and other such el33t brands on the respective websites , Ultimate showoff + Badass power ! :D

Dell E6400 with all the options, you can nego and get a very good config at 70k or less with 3 yr onsite all inclusive warranty

best advice is ........ to get it from USA to make most of available resources/ money.

In india u change change config a bit from ordinary one and pay huge some for it. Completely not justified.

As for the recommendations, check out reviews, user feedback from forum of Notebook and Laptop Reviews. Gateway and Asus were bringing great configs for awesome prices for an yr now so just check them out. I was tracking many laptop models but out of touch for few months now.

Also remember (which u might be knowing as well) specs are not ALWAYS everything. Its about execution of company to combine all resouces in nice package.

Anandtech had a review of gateway laptop with quad core processor, check it out as well. It would also be listing competitive/ worthy other models in review.

Lastly, dont finalise any model unless you personally read in depth review of it.

C ya, best luck.

Ive read bad reviews abt gateway products.... Moreover gateway dsnt come with international warranty... Leaving ASUS for gateway wud be a Sad thing to do.

Stick to the mentioned Asus Config... Wont recommend quad-core as they have massive heating issues... T9550 as recommended in my prev post is enuf.

Those were some really good insights ppl...i am getting a clearer perspective regarding the kind of processor and gfx cards..but is there a specific model that has rave reviews?thanks a lot.. more suggestions are welcomed
