Been very, very busy earning money but I'm back on this forum coz I've earned a little extra to blow and need some inputs:D ! The thing is I've got enough cash for a new card and I can't make up my mind if I want to SLI my setup or go for the 7900 or 7950  . i've met someone who's willing to buy my my card for 30 k :hap2: , so what do I do? Sell off my 7800 GTX and get a new 7950/7900 or get get another 7800 GTX? Woot say, guys???

DUDE, SELL SELL SELL SELL SELL. If ur getting 30k then wtf u waiting for, u can buy a much better card for the money which will beat even SLI

Someone's willing to buy my 7800 GTX for 30 K. Don't ask me why or how. I'm asking if I should sell it or get another one to SLI my setup. OR sell it and get a new card as in 7900/7950.. sheesh, I would think people would know how to read:bleh:

@hunt3r, Actually I was waiting for a response like yours :). Was hurting my conscience to sell it for 30K  ..So, what should I get?

nVidia cos u see, 2 7950s should be able to beat the pants off 1 x1900xt or whatever...it should... will it??? Been away from the scene for 2 long man.so, what should I go for? a single ati or a sli nvidia? And if anybody suggests that I go for a crossfire board, post your address. I'll make it a point to rob your place to finance the new board :@

Yea true but remember the DX10 cards are just around the corner and i wouldnt like to spend a lot on a DX9 card right now, especially not nvidia. Sure the 7950 will give you good.. ok great performance but then again you'll be missing out on the features ATI offers. Id say sell the card and either import a single X1900XT from the US(not worth buying it here) or you could buy a temporary card for a few months and get a DX10 card then.

You can buy an XT/XTX from India only for abt 30K if you cant import a card right now.....

And if you have to go Multi-GPU, it has to be crossfire and not SLI :P ...

ATI simply has too many features right now to justify the huuge amt of money being spent on quad SLI.

Quad SLI anyway will cost abt 70K ( 35K for one 7950GX2 card ).

IT will give you more framerates at insane resolutions. Will you play at such high resolutions ?? at even 1600 x 1200, the X1900 XT/XTX is just as good. You wont find a noticeable difference between the quad SLI and X1900 XT.

Unless you are gaming on a HD TV or something like that, Quad SLI is quite useless... and you dont get HDR + AA support. And ATI's image quality!!

Quad SLi would also mean u would have to upgrade your power supply ... i dont think 550W would be enough :S ....besides higher electricity bills will be in line as well :P

Besides wats wrong witha 7800GTX :S its a good card lol...get a dx 10 card ... radeon x1950 has been announced..r600 in line as well...quad sli would be a bad decision :)

As Shrey said, you need to upgrade your powersupply if you go for Quad SLI..... It is simply not worth it. And that is an important point.

Slow down @Nikhil. If you'd just read my post carefully, I never did mention an intention to go for crossfire. The point is, right now I'm getting a REALLY good price for my GTX and I'm thinking of 2 7900s in SLI mode instead of a single XT as my board does not support crossfire. The question is, will the dual 7900s beat a single XT and by how much?

@Death,won't I be stupid not to sell it for 30 K? And talking of DX10, when is it supposed to come? There's always something better on the horizon, and if I have to wait for a DX10 for a year or so, I'd rather go for the best DX9 setup cos a year down the line, I might be on Conroe or whatever AMD throws up. Also, I'd like to give enough time to nVidia and ATi to fight out their DX10 wars and go for the winner.

So, what say, dual 7900 0r single XT? Mind you, all purchases in India.

hey pl tell that guy whos buying ur card I have things to sell...my comp..my house, my dog.....everyth except my girl...man where is he....bring him on...i wanna sell everything to him...pleaseeeee:ohyeah:

2 x 7900s would beat a single X1900 XT. But what is the point ?? You wont see much performance difference unless you game on a HDTV compatible plasma screen or LCD TV or something like that.

At sane resoltuions like 1600 x 1200, the XT is more than enough.... so, why the heck would you want to spend more money ?? Save it and upgrade to Conroe :P

And I noticed you have a BenQ 17" LCD. I dont think that can even do 1600 x 1200....so, no use of going SLI

Availability/pricing of XT in India? While you're at it, can I get the 7950 GX2 here and for how much?

^^getting an Ati card over an Nvidia one is always a wrong decision, period.
Stop trolling :P. As of now, an NV card is better than ATI if u don't have eyes . The XT is arnd 30k. The 7950GX2 is about 35-40 depending on where u buy it. In the place where u live, it'll be 50 maybe :P.
