hey nag get my 1800XT sold for 20k..negotiable...can you? if so pm me... wat say...u r my man

@naga - 1st sell your 7800gtx.
2nd if you can source a card from singapore or usa then get a 7950. its for 28-30k both in usa & singapore.

if you are going to buy from india then the choices u have is 7900gt. its good but u wont notice a big performance jump from your current card. u can do sli 7900gt or get a x1900xt sapphire which is around 29k.

also whats the price of a 7950 here. if its a little more than x1900xt then get that anyday. & it will also give u the option of quad sli later which u already said that u might consider doing it.

Getting two 7900 GTs@1850 all taxes paid each. Dunno about XT prices, but here in my place they're asking for 38k for the 7950 GX2:rolleyes: !!

1850 ?? :O :O I want 10 of those !!!!

lol.....

Anyway which brand is it ?? for 18.5K it seems a nice deal...

instead of spending 37k on a 2 x 7900gt. i think get a single 7900gt & use it. if u are not happy then add another. otherwise if u want to just blow the cash n keep an option of quad sli later then get a single 7950

Here's a suggestion, get a 7900GTX 512 or a 7950GX2, single card NO SLI, ain't worth it.

These cards run much cooler, even the GX2, than the ati ones, and you won't need a board change over

Do this only if u cannot wait for DX10 cards :)

If you guys have'nt noticed, there's always something better in the "near future". DX10, 11 or whatever, I'm going to get them cards only when I see 10 or more DX10 games that I like.
@Vandal, 2 7900 GTs in SLI outperform a single GX2 in resols less than 1600...btw, NICE Rig, man.
@stormblast, very nice suggestion. Only problem, I have to blow the cash now or my wife will keep the rest :@ . As it is, am being able to spend so much only coz I've such a good deal on my GTX. In case u have'nt noticed, I've spent a bomb on my rig and no way my wifey's gonna let me plonk a few months down the line..Mebbe 12/18 months down the line, but not before.
Thanx everyone for your inputs in helping me make my decision :hap2: .

directx10 isnt like any other release....its a major major one perfomance, quality n feauture wise....
congrats on ur decision....
hv fun

^^ i second that.spending over 50k on sli is just "not worth it" no matter how much you have.get a ati x1900xt/xtx enuff for a year with your monitor.

I don't think that getting a card like the X1900XTX or the 7900GTX etc. means anything if you don't have a decent display. I'd say sell your 7800GTX (30k is a damn good price, i'll sell mine too if you friend wants to do SLI :) ) get a decent card something of the likes of 7900GT and get yourself a kickass display like Dell or samsung 24 incher.

Thanks, unlike u I don't have a wifey (yet) :angel1: though there's something cooking in this regard at home... will find out this christmas...:P

I have also been busy upgrading because after hathkadi err matrimony I'll probably be unable to upgrade as wifey will upgrade her wardrobe first.

Thankfully I've followed max guru's tips to making wifey a gamer, and she's hooked as well, so one card every two years may be allowed!! :ohyeah:

on topic, I think SLI is a waste, believe me mayte, been there done that. Go with a single card, and 7900GT's have been having problems, with display anomalies and kaput chips... go with a single 7900GTX or X1900XT if u don't want the GX2. You can postpone a DX10 card purchase to august 07 then, cause this will run pretty much everything, on your current 1280*1024 res monitor.

Save the bucks, give wifey some to blow (it pays in the long run believe me), the old seva vis a vis mewa deal

Man I'm too much... mods pls don't delete this post, if only for the entertainment value it presents.... please!! ;)

whoops, should've known it ain't easy making a decision when TE is asked for help :P !@x86n I'm not spending 50K :cool2: . And, yeah, some part of my decision in going for SLI is that I plan to go for a "kickass" LCD if I get a windfall sometime down the line. Also, this is going to be the last major upgrade on my rig. In around 18 to 24 months down the line, I'll get myself another completely new rig. Also, that part about giving some of my moolah to my wife is good, only hitch being, she handles all our finances and she's the one who spares me money now and then :D !!
@vandal, I wanna be there where you've been and do what you've done. So I can say the same to others "been there, done that" :hap2: !!!

if u care only bout performance. then get 7900gt sli. it will outperform a single 7950 & will also cost u 3-4k less.

The amount of feedback I'm getting is great :hap2: . Downside is, I don't think I can justify putting my new SLI setup in the showoff section :@ as most everyone here knows what I'm getting :ohyeah: . No matter, my sig IS going to be coool :ohyeah:.
@storm: 7900 GT SLI it is!!
