A/C not working isn't that a trivial issue to be totally ignored as it sometimes is indicated with more serious related causes, there was some social media posts that the flight got delayed due to some concerns, later took off.
India's lack of civil sense which we generally call out can manifest into cavalier wayward attitude while dealing with areas where more care is required. If one notice recently, there were lot of issues related to services in airport and high-hand attitude of staff there irking customer allover.
AC not working is simply because airlines dont want to spend more on fuel while on ground, jet engines
guzzle fuel like crazy, its just a cost cutting measure and nothing else, now if its indeed an issue, then SOP is for pilots to call maintainence folks and consult them who will either pull the circuit breaker and put a no-op sticker on it, or if its in MEL list, then simply cancel the flight or assign another plane.
Modern Aviation has redundancies
on top of redundancies on top of redundancies. No commercial airline would ever risk a Airframe for a measly flight. its not like jugaad where anything works or sab chalta hai, there are
very strict rules and regulations about
everything, built on blood that every airline follows.
Boeing has had quality issues over the last few years. This particular Dreamliner was manufactured in 2011, and AI took delivery of it in 2013, IIRC. I suspect maybe poor aircraft maintenance on AI's end, and the overload of fuel just served as a catalyst?
let's just wait on official report before assigning blame, this is the first hull loss for Dreamliner, Boeing will be on point cooperating with Indian authorities to find out the root cause, looks like both Cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder survived, that will really help out investigation.
News going about suggests all 242 passengers have perished.
I hope not.
Same here
All true handy dandy, For a fact I know there are pilots who fly these airplanes in set mood.
not sure if you are agreeing with me or not, but if you are not, then its simply because airlines/pilots aren't following established CRM guidelines and checklists, its a failing on the pilot and more importantly a failing on the airline for not discouraging such behavior and not providing adequate CRM training. There are way too many crashes which could have been avoided or atleast improve the outcome if pilots had followed basic CRM techniques.
