Airconditioner & Gas Geyser help

A very close family friend of ours works in Onida. We are planning to buy an AC, so he suggested we take from the "factory seconds" goods.

So the rate is ~15k for a 1.5 ton split AC. He said we get either a piece with a minor physical defect or an obsolete model.

Just want to know what I should take care of in such cases, i.e. before buying and after buying (like star rating, AMC, etc?)

Also some tips on usage would be very helpful.

Gas Geyser...

What is it?

Does it need electricity?

How safe is it? esp. compared to electric geyser

How fast does it heat the water?

Can it be used to get 24/7 hot water in the taps in the house?

If not, then what can be used? (can't put anything on the terrace, so solar water heaters cancelled)

any other pros and cons?

Any good brands out there?

Where to buy it?

about gas geysers..

We are using one for about 2-3 years now.

1. & 2. It is a water heater which uses LPG to heat the water instead of electricity.

3. Totally safe. The installation includes valves which should remain open only when one is using the geyser. In case of water supply getting discontinued, gas supply is switched off automatically.

4. Within a few seconds

5. If you want it in all the taps then extensive piping would need to be done.

Buy any ISI marked brand.
