Airtel : 1099 Swift/Explorer ?

OK, so finally fed up of my BSNL connection i am switching over to AIRTEL and have decided mostly on the 1099 PLAN that gives me :

+100 Calling Value
+384 DAY/1Mbps Night [ Night being 10 PM - 6 AM]
OR
+ 512 DAY/512 Night

Now firstly i want someone to confirm whether both these plans exist in the market because the WEBSITE only mentions the 512 one and my sales guy has given me the 384/1Mbps one but has said he can also give me the other one on request.

My majority usage will be for :

+Gaming [ How are the pings to SG servers ??]
+Video Chat
+ Bit of Torrenting say ~30 GB a month

So which one should I GO FOR ??

PS : Dont give a shit about FUP so dont turn this into rant war about that :no:
 
^^i have the 384 kbps + 1 mbps @night plan -- the FUP limit is 100gb so no problems for u.

Also u get 1 mbps whole of Sunday (at least in Bangi I get that).

thru speedtest, the ping to SG server is ~140.
 
^^ Wow never knew that!! Hahaha good stuff by Vodafone - although wouldn't this kind of domain-squatting be shady enough for ICANN to look into..?

So , I should go for the 384/1Mbps plan ? As it is giving me overall more bandwidth than a constant 512Kbps connection.

My only concern : Is a 384 Kbps line enuff for video chat as well as parallel browsing/gaming in general ?
 
Ok, so i have signed up for the explore 1099 PLAN which is the 384/1Mbps PLAN.

FYI : It has NO FUP. The plan above this i.e 1299 has an FUP of 100GB and after that speed is halved.
 
Well, FEEDBACK time.

Plus :

+Installation on the next day of applying the connection

+Pretty slick wifi modem [ Beetel ] @ 500 one time payment

+50KBps [Day] / 150 KBps [Night] a la torrents

+No FUP

+All pings to servers 'A' OK !

Minus:

- No Wireless Handset option

In the end a nice deal for 1000 a month :)
 
It Seems they have stopped Explorer plan in blore.

Have taken the 1299 plann with 512kbps (day / 1 MBPS ( night) UL.

Will the speed be halved after 100GB in this plan?

Yes it will be reduced to 256 Kbps.
 
Weird thing is i am getting speeds which are definitely not in accordance to the plan limits.

The whole day i was getting ~60KBps in day and at night 155KBps :S

I am not complaining :)

This is beauty of Airtel BB. They just are awesome.
 
Hey!! Guys M Using The airtel Broadband of 128kbps monthly Rental is 599Rs..

and Unlimited Downloading with Surffing Day and Night !!! Its very Costly!!

Buts services are very Fast and Good!!!! and M using this Connection from last 1year
But One thing i want to ask u that should i change my plan in Explorer 1099!! Becz now i want some high speed for Downloading so i want some suggestions!!!!!

I dont exactly know what kind of "suggestion" do you need.

You need more speed + You can afford it == Upgrade to 1099 Swift/Explorer

Simple :)
 
@ ! 0 t A --- YGPM regarding a query on Airtel initial charges for your wi-fi modem + installation + activation charges. Was it just Rs 500 for the Wi-Fi modem + activation+installation. I had my own modem and still paid 500 as activation/install charges (non-refundable) :mad:
