Okay, I'm a bit pissed off, since some AIRTEL users are enjoying 512KBPS speeds on their Rs. 649 plan since 2 months now, and I"M BLOODY paying Rs. 1099 for the same 512KBPS...

I thought it was supposed to be doubled??? I've lost a good Rs. 1200, or payed extra for the SAME speed of Rs.649 UL plan.... Now I'm seriously PISSED.... what do I do??? Should I change my plan to the 649 one or swicth board to MTNL?? I need 1MBPS, it's not a want anymore... DOwnload capp 50GB/month..(mine)

Hey I am using the same plan (swift 1099) too, called customer care about the same. They claimed my speed would be upgraded in about 1-2 weeks, I was really ecstatic !!!! ......... but that was like almost a month and half back .... Now when you call up they say they are upgrading 256/384 kbps customers only .... after that they "would" start upgrading 512 kbps customers.

I am pretty sure they are making a fool out of us. So change your plan or take a chance and switch to MTNL its not as bad since the quality of service at Airtel has also degraded you won't feel the difference.

I unfortunately would stick to them since my MTNL line is really unreliable and Dodgy :( .

I am paying 1699 for 1 Mbps unlimted .... i will be waiting till the end of June which was the deadline given by airtel to see if there is any change in speed, if there is none i will be moving to Reliance which is offering the 1MBps for around 1399 in my area.

even i don't think that's going to happen so, i'll suggest you to go for MTNL.

earlier i used to have Airtel but now switched it to BSNL so that i can save a few hundred bucks.
 
I'll wait till the end of this month, AIRTEL call centre employee clearly said "Latest by June"... last chance AIRTEL..

then I go to Rs. 649 plan
 
The 256kbps plan which has been bumped to 512kbps has a FUP limit of 5GB after which it goes back to 256kbps. Now if you are the one to download 24/7, you will reach your FUP limit in 30 hrs. So really, these double speeds are just a marketing tactic, nothing more.
 
If you had taken advantage of double speed offer then you would be gettting 1mbps unlimited all time like me on swift 1099.And there is no fup on it :)
 
^Not possible. Every Double speed plan has a FUP on it now. And this FUP has been implemented from the past few weeks.
 
Yeah exacltly all the double plans have FUP.

Though how much is the FUP? My downloading is very high, something like 50 GB a month easily so if there are going to be low FUP's then makes no sense using double plan
 
50 GB is pretty average if you ask me. :P Most guys here who are complaining usually download 24/7 and hence even a FUP of 100GB seems very less. Anyways, as I said earlier, the FUP for the Rs. 649 plan is 5GB and for the Rs. 1699 one mbps plan it is 100 GB.

nothing is impossible :P

I download more than 50GB every month on average and my speed has never been reduced till date.

Although the CC guys had told me that fub is 25gb once and 12gb once. LOL

WATS UR PLAN price,speed and FUP?

WHAT speed double thing were you talking about

i just took 2mbps unlimited RS.1999 with 30gb FUP,will it go down after 30gb or stay up

also where are you located in MUMBAI,me at Lower Parel

isn't your FUP 20gb,

your speed should go down to 256kbps after 20gb(day) and not 50gb

how are you still onto 1mbps unlimited for 1699 when AIRTEL just has taken out 1399 1mbps unlimited

annoying habit of airtel that they dont change the cost for existing customers when they change the cost ... happened to me before also when the cost for 1 mbps unlimited was 2222 a month ... but also i dont see the offer you mention in my region.. maybe will take some time to come out ... but for all things if they dont upgrade me to 2mbps by june i will changing to airtle.
 
1399 is not for New Delhi. For Delhi, it is 1699 with 100GB FUP. So I think that the plan in New Delhi is much better, at least at the moment.
