2. The MAX you can download on the Rs.1299 512kbps + 1 mbps @ 8PM-6AM is approx 173 GB. ( Only the day usage has a FUP of 100 GB which is pointless since you are not going to reach it even if you download 24/7 )

So unless, the Rs.1699 plan doubles your speed to 2mbps and 1 mbps after FUP, it is pointless spending 400 bucks more on it.

the max you can download on 1mbps with FUP of 100gb would be 213.3gb if you go non-stop
 
Well according to airtel site 1099 plan users will now get 1MBPS speed till 15GB and after that 256KBPS(MP&Chhattisgarh).....They should downgrade to 512KBPS atleast,256KBPS is not worthy 1099 per month....will try it this month and if this don't go well then surely gonna leave this airtel sh!t....
 
yup,me too on the 1299 plan..

guys this is the best plan right now,if you are on it,do not change.

Airtel has totally revamped all the plans,with sick low FUP on each.

if this continues,airtel will go down the drain.!

I also had a chat with customer care department for new connection, and I was told that FUP is applicable for both day and night. Also once limit is crossed, speed changes for both day and night.

Strange, they give different answers. Hope this has nothing to do with city we are residing in.
 
I switched ISP's only couple of weeks back from Tata Indicom to Airtel hoping i will get better plans. But :(
Anyhow i am on one of the cheapest unlimted plan in India :P Home 499 plan (512Kbps for 5Gb and 256kbps afterwards). But all my upgrade dreams are now busted :( Was looking forward to 1099 plan and 1mbps with 100GB FUP.
 
thinking about canceling my 4 year old airtel account ... i never used the landline and the primary purpose was the internet ... but completely not happy with there plan and way airtel seems to heading ... considering Reliance. They seem to have a nice 1 mbps plan for 1499 with night 2 Mbps .
 
@kolguy,could you elaborate on the plan and FUP,i'll switch over to that plan,if what you say is true!

EDIT:just saw the other thread,seems to be awesome(do they have the same plans in chennai).

whatever i posted was that from link above. I did get a handout like a few months ago for a 1Mbps plan in my area for 1399 so i guess it should be available ... planning on droping rcom centre today evening to check this out a bit more.
 
^^ combo plans are for people with reliance landlines.. I switched from Airtel to reliance coz of FUP. I am now enjoying the night booster 2mbps UL plan.

what are the day/night speeds ? how much do you pay ?

Yeah the plan name is night booster zoom 1. Speed charges everything as mentioned here. Welcome to Reliance Communications

1499 per month. Night time is 10PM to 8AM

In 2mbps i get speeds from 220-240KBps and in 1mbps I get speeds from 100-110KBps in torrents. Upload speeds hover around 800kbps
 
Just got a call from Airtel stating that they had turned the 1099 plan to 1Mbps unlimited and asked me if I wanted to shift to that. I jumped with joy for a moment, only to catch my breath again and ask him the "FUP" part. Why do I even bother with Airtel for their stupid unlimited plans? The FUP for the 1Mbps unlimited was 15GB and after that my speed would cut down to 256Kbps, which is beyond a joke. I can't understand why incorporate FUP in the first place?
 
I had upgraded to 1mbps plan for 1699/- On july 1st & last 10-15 days or so it seems airtel has upgraded my plan for free to 2mbps speed 100gb FUP.

I am getting constant 280KB/s. was it planned ?

I never got any letter or call for upgrading but i do remember airtel upgrading to double the speed of old customers.

Anyone else seen this speed change?
 
Holy shit me too on 1 mbps plan and getting 2 mbps for the past 24 hrs.The only sad part is i applied for BSNL 512kbps plan+ 500C just a week ago :P.If this is permanent i am staying with airtel... will BSNL return my deposit if i cancel the connection before they install:huh:.
