Planning to get new Airtel DTH and i have few queries regarding their service.

Planning to take this pack of Airtel. So does this include the cost of dish too :ashamed:

After the 5 months period then is the billing prepaid or post paid?

Need Neo Cricket and Set MAX only for few weeks in a year. So if we choose to go with Neo Cricket on Jan 15th then will we get it till Jan 31st or till Feb 14th(1 month from date of payment)?

Planning to use it with Samsung 32LAC530 Full HD TV. So how good is the quality of Sun TV and other Tamil channels in Full HD TV (viewing distance: 6-10 feet)

I have Airtel Broadband but i want to get the DTH for a different address. Will i be eligible for any of their existing customer offers?

Also how good is their gateway for adding ala carte channels payment?

Dont fall for free BIG TV bait.

Airtel has much better customer service and quality.

The price includes cost of dish, stb and advertised subscription package for the advertised duration.

Any topup you activate, will be for 1 month at the actuals, date to date not according to calendar months, they are auto renewing, if you want to discontinue after 1 month you have to call customer service on the last date.

I am using multiroom option of the Airtel DTH and extremely happy with it so far.

BTW Samsung had AIRTEL DTH free with tvs during Diwali, so force you dealer to give that free.

Pre paid here. Some mega pack 910bux for 3 months + 2 regional langauge pack free + 5 days free.
customer service is the best.
 
Yeah the Rs.125 pack is awesome :D Contains all cricket channels. So how is the service for the dish tv compared to airtel and how is the pic and audio quality.

Edit: seems only indian cricket matches will be shown in all channels. No Wimbledon and F1.:@

Airtel is quite fast, I got call for installation after 4 hours of making payment for 1st connection.

and for second they cam within the window which I had given for the installation in advance. :)

All the payments for all the DTH is prepaid.

Yes, Dish TV has better pricing and better packages, but due to older MPEG2 technology and highly compressed channels in few transponders the qulity is not enjoyable in large Tvs. (I have used Dish TV earlier).

Darkangel : look at different packages, after your free trial period is over you can get a new Economy sports package which costs 237 per month including espn, star sports, star cricket, and ten sports. does not include english movies channels (which are redundant now in days of fast and unlimited internet connections :P). If you subscribe for any package for 12 months in advance payment you get 2 months free plus 2 regional packages free which includes quite a lot of south packages.

I last week only subscribed this package for advance annual rental, and will get for 14 months effectively 204 INR a month. :)

Ya boss. Saw that they offer 2 months extra in their website which is pretty good :) We can continue with the same pack as the starter even after 5 months ri8? I dont think my parents will ever need to change package as this provides them all the tamil channels and couple of english news channels which is all they will ever need.

Will pay via net in couple of days as they are offering Rs.250 cashback (can use it to add ala carte channels :))

Airtel called already :P Will be installed tomorrow.

for continuation after your free period you will be continued in the same package, and deduction will start in form of daily reduction in balance. They will sms you when your balance goes below 75/- so you are aware when to recharge :).

Make sure you fill up form yourselves otherwise the person will screw your spellings a lot, let him fill only the technical details.

Says i have subscribed to South Super Value Sports 5M Oct-10 @ Rs. 143.39 pm + tax

Account Validity:

The price of this package after 5 months is 130pm + tax according to the website.

I am bit lost here. So will Rs.158 be deducted for each month from the Rs.500 account balance or will balance remain unchanged till June 7 - 2011 (5 months subscription)

How how will the account balance be deducted? Also they had mentioned the account will be credited with Rs.250 cash back for buying the pack online. So is the adjustment for online payment that is reflected on 6th the cash back one?

Or am i lucky and the transaction reflected twice resulting in 2*250 cashback to Rs.500 :P

Sorry to go off topic but I didn't want to start a new thread.
My Airtel DTH hasn't been working since yesterday morning. I get a blank screen whenever I switch on the STB. I called up customer care last night and they told me it was a broadcast problem affecting everyone, and should be resolved in 4 hrs. It wasn't. I called again this morning, and they told me one of their satellites was out, and it'll take 4 hrs to solve. They told me it was affecting all cities, so I just wanted to know if anyone else is facing this issue, or they're feeding me a load of bullshit.
 
i guess the balance will remain the same as i took airtel hd dth yesterday and the balance showed as 100 rs :D , i called customer care and asked for upgrade to the mega pack from the 1590 economy pack and he told me services will run without recharge for 2 months :D , so ofcourse with 100 rs balance it wont run for so long :)
 
If you have airtel DTH connection along with airtel broadband (same name same account) you get 100rs on the DTH every month. This offer is valid on only 2 select broadband plans. One of the plans that I remember was for 949 512K which had a 8GB limit and after that you get 256k
 
Nope i am from goa and no other broadband other then bsnl is available over here, the 100 rs balance i was referrring to was after the installation , and i wld like to add to my last post , i got a call frm airtel dth customer care telling my plan has been upgraded to mega pack , and i would recieve the same for free for 3 mnths(not 2) without having to do any additional recharges , and they also told me the balance wil go into negative after the plan change but nothing to worry about
