I found Tata Sky & Airtel good after comparing all DTH services. Airtel has very good clarity.

Things I like about Airtel
Very good clarity & better reception
Single remote to operate + Frequency setting with TV
Slick & small good looking DTH Box
Very good channels within basic package for just 115 Rs. (Discovery, NGC comes in base pack)

Things I Hate about Airtel
Channel lag of 2-3 seconds while changing channels.

Please share Things you like & hate about Airtel.

Which DTH package in Airtel do you use ? Is it good to have direct big package like Economy Pack Or get base pack + top ups ?

Share which package you use or prefer for north indian audience (Dont need any channel from South India)

What happens when you use Airtel DTH for 2 months & dont pay for 1 month (coz person is going out of station) will they disconnect all channels or will get free channels ?
 
I own a Tata Sky and cn tell u that the channel lag is also thr on it.. It's not as gud as cable ( channel change time) , but not too bad either & it's the same for Airtel.. that's obviously not a deal breaker..
 
Airtel DTH

Pros:

Great picture quality and sound

Sleek box

Universal Remote

Cons:

Lag while changing channels

Hate the black theme, the option to change themes hasn't been enabled yet although i see it on the Menu

TATA Sky's Menu system was more organized

Overall, i would rate Airtel DTH only slightly above TATA Sky because of the better reception.

Depends on which channels you want.

You can calculate and see which option is cheaper for you.

I'm currently on the 'Mega Pack' + Neo top-up

Comes to around 305 + tax ~ 337.

You get 2 FREE Regional top ups with this.

In short, I get almost all channels except 2 sports channels (ten sports, Zee sports) & other regional channels.

Acc. to the new brochure, Zee Cafe has been moved to Ultra Pack, but I'm still getting it in the Mega pack. :)
 
There is almost no lag in channel changing time in Dish TV. But I observed lag in channel changing in Videocon d2h. (Sorry this is somewhat offtopic)
 
Initially go for 3 month pack which gives you mega pack + installation.

Then choose what you want after knowing your viewing habits.
 
Any Airtel users, Did you complain Airtel Ccare on channel lag while changing ?

Why does it take damn 2-3 seconds while changing channels ?
 
*sigh* earlier i thought that only videocond2h had that a bit of lagging problem while changing channels

Yes Airtel & Videocon has huge lagging issue. Tata sky & Dish has minimal.

I got to know that in Tata sky, you can only upgrade to other packages. downgrading is not possible.
