Airtel pegs minimum broadband speed at 512 kbps

Yeah so I might be moving to Airtel (sick of getting crap service from MTNL) and wanted to know which plan to go for. I need 512 minimum. Is it true that the 512 + 1Mbps at night wont get upgraded? Will the normal 512 plan get upgraded? Which one should I go for?

Well I just now confirmed with Airtel customer care and they said no upgarde for 1099 and 1299 plans. upgarde is only for lower plans and that to with limit and after limit of certain free gbs plan will be switch back to 256kbps.
