Airtel silently removed the 200 Mbps fiber plan. Now, for the same price, they are providing only 100 Mbps. Day by day, Airtel is becoming like a British-era company, looting its own customers. I'm planning to disconnect my fiber broadband—no more Lagaan to Airtel.

It seems like they have 3 tiers for the 100 Mbps plan now, just with additional OTT/DTH offers. They sacrificed the 200 Mbps plan for additional OTT content. If you notice, they have lowered the OTT benefits on the 899 plan.

Just to confirm, did they make changes to your plan without your consent?
Did your speed reduce to 100mbps from 200Mbps?

I'm due for renewal end of this month. While I'm happy with current 200mbps plan, i will be less inclined to pay 1k every month for 100 mbps. I hardly use any of their ott services anyway.

It's only stupid if the assumed loss of subscribers translates to actual loss of subscribers. Otherwise it's a win. I guess they're ready to take the chance.

Currently on 200 mbps. Still shows the same on Airtel thanks app as of now.

I think it was removed only for Airtel Black and for new customers.

For regular Xstream users, the plan is still there. I recently got a new Airtel Fiber connection. I opted for the cheapest (plan x tenure) option that advertised free installation. After checking the connection quality for a few days, I upgraded it to 200mbps via the Thanks app.

There is an identically priced 100mbps plan. The only difference seems to be Netflix basic in exchange for half the speed (lol). Other OTTs are available in both plans.
 
airtel doing the same with their mobile recharge, sending almost threatening messages to recharge. their support has become s#it. the monopoly of airtel and jio gonna ruin the competition even with local fiber.

I am on Airtel Rs.999/200mbps plan. No change for old customers like me as of now.

Yes,
i can also see 200Mbps plan in change plan options.
they have also removed the 300mbps @1498 plan and made the 1598 plan (IPTV plan as standard for new users and Airtel Black as well)
targeting old customers will go against them, no one will want reduced speed just to get few OTT+IPTV.
