hi all
my friend is looking to buy a new low cost mobo to handle his e2140.he wants to have the hackintosh compatibility as well.
so i suggested the 945gc or the g31 chipsets mobos either from gigabye or intel.no plans to overclock.

these have the alc888 chipset for 5.1 surround sound.but these have only 3 audio jacks ,ie line out, line in and mic in.he wants to connect a mic,and 2 2.1 speakers to front and rear respectively.can these be done on these motherboards , like changing line in to rear speaker output or they have the surround output through co-axial spdif only?

any other suggestions for a low cost mobo ie 2-3.3k which would be compatible with hackintosh?

sure :hap2:
just open HD Audio Manager I/O control options n u can manually set 1 for mic and 2/4 for sound output easily

thanx..
m still wondering..if someone really wants to use the 5.1 then he needs
1 for centre
1 for front
1 for rear
1 for the sub

but it has only 3 jacks..in that case what does one do?

center and sub are 1 channel each unlike front and rear which are in stereo.

so they share one jack :)
