I am out........ sorry for that........ but just saw the price and it is 200+ $. And if it comes to India, it will be even more...... waaay too much for me......

Venice 3000+ costs $149 for OEM and $156 for retail pack on newegg! Even with shipping thats about Rs.7200/-, lesser than the cost of a winnie 3000+ here. And I am sure it wont be priced too higher than the existing market price even if only 10pcs are to be ordered.. perhaps u cud wait till darky confirms the price..

the thing i dont understand is why are u guys jumping to comclusion when u dont even know the price as yet. All darky wants to know is "if u r interested."

Ok.... fine........ I am interested.... I anyway do not need the full packaging. I only need the CPU.....

Darky, once you confirm the price, I will confirm to you.......

Ok..... Sorry for changing the subject of discussion.

But I wanted to know from you experts(Darky, DJ, Funky, Masky, etc.....) if getting a Venice will give me better overclocks on my mobo. Using everything same........ Same RAM, mobo, XP-120, etc.......

Not exactly, RAM only holds back for 1:1 overclocking.

Using Memory dividers, your RAM is no obstacle to your CPU overclock.

Even with the cheapest Value RAM, you should be able to completely max out your CPU.

Your motherboard also can scale to a max of 300HTT, I believe Bottle mentioned that this was the maximum available HTT in the Bios for the A8V Deluxe.

EDIT:

Yep, forgot to be as detailed as Masky :D

A 3000+ has a multi of 9 , which gives a max speed of 300 x 9 = 2.7Ghz

A 3200+ has a multi of 10, which gives a max speed of 300 x 10 = 3Ghz

So, all in all, yes you will be able to reach higher clocks with the Venice, provided you use your memory divider and not expect the RAM to run 1:1. But keeping in mind the above BIOS limitation on your board, you should reach at the most 2.7Ghz (for a 3000+ Venice).

^^ the limit Crazy Eddy is talking about is only with a 3000+.. :) If Nikhil gets a good OCing 3200+ Venice then he cud scale as high as 3000MHz (3 gigz!!!) on his mobo.. :)

Hmm i am contemplating whether to go for 3000+ or 3500+ or 3700+ San Diego

Its so confusing

Overclocking potential is quite important for me though.

Darky Techreport just reviewed a 3800+ Venice core, and it was able to OC till 2.7 ghz only. So I guess 3000+ is your best and cheapest bet.

hi,

count me in for a venice 3000+ or 3200+, whatever costs below 10K. But you are not giving the final order now, are you? Cause i'll still have to ask my dad.

Me too............ same as above.... less than 10K. I prefer a 3200+(obviously). But only if it is less than 10K.

And even for the 3000+, I want to know the final price before deciding.....

And what I meant in my previous post was --- Thanks to those who replied for my query.....

And even I wanted to say that until I get better RAM, I will be running my present RAM at mem dividers. So, I am sort of 'in' for a Venice depending on the price and my financial situation.

Well Im interested in the venice 3000+. Although I can only order it after 8th (exams finishing on 8th).

Let me know the pricing and availabilty. Do we have to pay first, then only he will ship it?

Updated list,

1] Deejay - 3700 SD
2] Funky - 3500 Venice
3] Quad - 3500 Venice
4] Darky - 3000 Venice
5]Nikhil - 3000 Venice
6] Zhopudey - 3000 Venice
7] Ali [My friend] - 3000 Venice
8] Maxx - 3000 Venice

Any more ???

I guess Asus A8N-E is a decent mobo for you Stormblast.

Please be specific Stormblast.

It is easier for me to submit the exact quantities.

I would prefer the 3200+ if there isnt too much price difference, due to 10x multiplier which will allow better overclocking :P

A lot of people were recommended the 3200+ Winnie over the 3000+ keeping in mind the higher multiplier, but honestly speaking has anyone actually fallen short with the lower multi?
True, the Venice's do hold more potential than the Winnie, but it would be wiser to get yourself a better board instead of the higher 3200+. Price difference would definately be a bit, at present its about a 50$ difference between the two.

Anyway depends on the mobo, which one do you have in mind? If its a decent mobo like even the A8N-E capable of doing high HTTs, a lower multi should not be your concern :)

^^ Hehe, A very good question! :D

But its dependant on a number of factors:
- Your CPU (different CPU's have different potential)
- Your motherboard (is it a good motherboard targetted at overclocking)
- Your PSU (insufficient power = you cant overclock much)

Lets say you have a good mix of all the above 3 factors, I would estimate a minimum of 2.6Ghz atleast. How high you can go is a very controversial subject, some people may be over enthusiastic to suggest 3Gigs is possible, others may be conservative in saying 2.6 .
