Crazy_Eddy said:^^ Hehe, A very good question!
But its dependant on a number of factors:
- Your CPU (different CPU's have different potential)
- Your motherboard (is it a good motherboard targetted at overclocking)
- Your PSU (insufficient power = you cant overclock much)
Crazy_Eddy said:Lets say you have a good mix of all the above 3 factors, I would estimate a minimum of 2.6Ghz atleast. How high you can go is a very controversial subject, some people may be over enthusiastic to suggest 3Gigs is possible, others may be conservative in saying 2.6 .
funkymonkey said:Darky any timeframe regarding this?
I mean when this can be expected..
TheMask said:RAM RAM? but of course u cud argue u wud use a memory divider
TheMask said:With water or LN cooling, 3 gigz is quite possible
Crazy_Eddy said:Yes, but apart from esteemed few (like Sunny) ..
Crazy_Eddy said:A lot of people were recommended the 3200+ Winnie over the 3000+ keeping in mind the higher multiplier, but honestly speaking has anyone actually fallen short with the lower multi?
True, the Venice's do hold more potential than the Winnie, but it would be wiser to get yourself a better board instead of the higher 3200+. Price difference would definately be a bit, at present its about a 50$ difference between the two.
Anyway depends on the mobo, which one do you have in mind? If its a decent mobo like even the A8N-E capable of doing high HTTs, a lower multi should not be your concern
There's gonna be a DFI Lanparty NF3 UT 939 board thats gonna come out within the next month. It'll own the MSI for sure in oc'ing .Nikhil said:The neo2 platinum is the best AGP mobo for oc'ing. NO doubt abt that at all......
Yo Darky,
If your dealer is getting the shipment within the next 10 days, you can count me in for a Venice 3000+ but your dealer will really have to be very firm with his comittment; otherwise I'll end up in a $hit creek with no paddle .
Sure, i will let you know as soon as i get any info on this.funkymonkey said:oki.
Do let us know the prices as they are made available to you. If the shipment is confirmed i will arrange the payment accordingly.
My exams will be starting on 28th but its no biggie. My bro is now here who is also geek like us. so he can take pains of installing and testing the chip. So i am ready to buy whenever its available.
Darklord said:Well thats what he called and told me, i dont think he would have called had he not had the confirmation.
JediMaster said:It's just that I'm desperately looking for a skt 939 cpu to test my DFI mobo without having to dismantle my existing Winnie rig !
