I have currently connected the MX5021 to my DVD player and I watch movies on a 40" LCD in my room.

I have already made wiring arrangements for a 5.1 setup. I had thought I will buy an Onkyo 3200 (5.1 spearkers + amp). But i'm quite happy with just the 5021 though i miss the surround effect since is is just a 2.1

I was wondering if I should buy the FX5051 so that I get the surround effect which I am missing out now. Will i be able to connect the speakers with the standard wiring that is normally done for a home theatre system or is something else required in this case?

get the onkyo s3300, future proof for several years if not a decade.
price?

s3200 is for approx 24000 in mumbai @ezone.

Can i somehow do without an amp? My dvd player supports 5.1 .. can i connect 5 speakers directly to it? Never really figured why i need a 18k odd amp.

If you want 5.1, get a Philips 3571 for 15k, pwns the Onkyo 3200.

If you want pure quality and clear, deep sound, and don't mind the lack of surround sound, go for AE5s. Trust me, these speakers don't need a sub woofer. I have bought a sub woofer and it doesn't add much to these speakers.
