Just a thought - what refresh rate is the monitor at ? If you can - change the refresh rate and check if there is any diffeerence.

The refresh rate is at 85HZ @ 1024x768 resolution . It didnt make any difference by changing the refresh rate , besides anything under 85Hz is not acceptable to my eyes now ;).

another thing is that this problem only occours at 5% of the volume or above, so i presume if its an electrical problem it shud even occour at lesser than 5% of the volume , isnt it ?

Me too - 85 is the bare minimum I can accept. :)

I am not an electronics expert so I am going to make some guesses - if the problem only occours at 5% of the volume or above then my thinking is that it could be because of some electronics part problem like a leaking capacitor which acts up at certain load levels - but people here have said there are no electronics inside the sattelites...... OR ..... I think it could be a loose speaker voice coil which may be rubbing against the speaker magnet when the volume is raised and the voice coil is vibrating a certain amount - ( @Funky...could this cause rogue electromagnetic signals ? ) If it is a voice coil gone loose you should be able to hear the scratching sounds it makes if you place your ear next to the speaker at loud volumes - I had a 15" woofer with this voice coil problem once - take care if you try this BUD !!!

Once agin I will say I am no expert on electronics. All I mentioned may be very far fetched

I feel that the highs are shrilly.... pains my ears after a while .... i would rather like flat warm sound . Is it that something's wrong here or the mx5021's are like this ?

If you're listening to low bitrate mp3s, it might happen, as the mx5021s are quite accurate. Try listening to a original cd and see whether the same problem occurs.

The mx5021 is actually a bit on the brighter side. I keep the treble at 4 dots out of 5. However one thing I realized is that the HF content actually exists in the audio. We are just too used to the HF being cut off by our speakers. Thats why it takes a bit of time to get used to the MX5021. My ears pained initially when listening to lots of stuff that I normally listen. But then I realised thats what happens if I'm actually a guitar with maxed distortion too :P. In terms of accuracy its hard to beat...

Shows how much u know.....Have u seen the logitech Z5300/Z5500 (except in dreams)...The 53...doesn't have a mute button on it....and I mentioned when the speaker was muted (no sound)....it was off that means....

Now how can it cause distortion when its OFF.....(heh) :bleh:

Anyways @85 Hz I can notice a flickering effect...maybe my eyes r more sensitive....that's why I run @ 100Hz.....except this crap I have here won't do it...both my samsungs do though....:ohyeah:

No need to mention you're no elec xpert.....it shows....
