nice list. :D i was also looking for some songs/bands in this genre.
anyone can point to specific songs, like their favourites?
 
Yeah, here are some of my all time favorites of the bands mentioned in this thread.

Goo Goo Dolls - Iris

Coldplay - Trouble, Viva la vida, Speed of sound

Green Day - Good Riddance

The calling - Wherever you will go

Red hot chilli peppers - Californication

Snow patrol - chasing cars

R.E.M. - Losing my religion

Hoobastank - The Reason

The fray - how to save a life, over my head, look after you.
 
breaking benjamin except diary of jane, breath...most of theirs seem to b alike..lol
collective soul, deep purple, three doors down, three days grace, alterbridge, coldplay, cranberries, pink floyd, evanescence, hinder, nickelback.

p.s. not sure if all of em fall into dis category...but all are great bands..
 
some of my fav include
Rammnstein, Slipknot, Metallica, Godsmack, SOAD, Scorpions, U2, Creed..

p.s. fall into rock n metal genre;)

agreed..but as long as its good..its ok..

besides if you see that waymeteora was very much like HT..but all the songs were good..
 
You're not exactly looking for alternative rock bands. Anyway, give "The Decemberists" a shot. Similar music to some of the bands you listed. Indie rock though.
