Here is the response from Prime:

Asus P8P67 Pro B3 = 12200/-= COMING in 2 DAYS
Asus P8P67 Deluxe B3= 15500/-= COMING in 2 DAYS
Gigabyte P67A UD7 B3 = NOT AVIL COMING in 5 to 6 days
Core i5 2500K = 12700/-
G.Skill Ripjaws-X - 2x4GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9 RAM = XL SERAEIS AVI L 1333 2GB X 2GB = 2950/-
Thermalright Socket 1156 bolt-through kit= 500/

The CPU seems to be overpriced. They say 2 days' time for the newer B3 boards. We'll see.

Hmm... No word on the Sabertooth P67. I guess its not going to land here any time soon. I guess I will have to go for P8P67 Deluxe. As for the 2 days promise, I hope its correct.

Anyways if I can get the Gigabyte P67A UD7 B3 (within the same time frame) from another source for under 19k, should I go for it? I guess it would be a high end P67 board with an NF200 chip for extra PCIe lanes and more of comparison for Asus Maximus IV Extreme. Would the NF200 be any use if I am going to Crossfire? I read somewhere that on Maximus IV, the x16 (Native) + x16 (NF200) actually gives slightly worse performance than Native x8 + x8

^Are you planning to go for a SLI/Crossfire setup again? :P

The UD7 under 19k does sound sweet although I am not sure if the additional investment is completely worth it. Refer this review to notice how beautifully the cheaper P8P67 scales with a couple of 6950 GPUs. The more expensive P8P67 Dlx does have a lead albeit a marginal one at that. I am not sure how the UD7 with the NF200 chipset would scale.

Hey and we might have some good news in a couple of days' time. Hopefully! And no I am not referring to Prime's status here. ;)

^^Yeah, Will be going Multi GPU for sure. :P Have around 45k set aside for that. Just not fully decided whether to go for HD6970 or custom cooled GTX570's.

And yeah, I have been reading about the UD7 and it seems It will not be of that much use to me. The expansion slot layout is really bad. The first PCIe x1 slot is unusable and if I plugin the my X-Fi into any of the available slots, I would have to run the Multi GPU in x8 + x8 mode totally defeating the purpose of spending more for the NF200.

^Layout wise, the Asus beats the entry level and even the mid-end Gigabyte boards. Besides, I couldn't help but notice that no other Gigabyte P67 board other than the UD7 offered 8 ports! OTOH the cheapest Asus full-ATX board (P8P67 LE) offers 7 ports!

The only downside with the Asus P8P67 Pro being the absence of the LED POST indicator and the RESET CMOS button at the back panel. The Dlx has those but at an expense!

^^ Very true, I was disappointed to see that none of the mid/upper mid range gigabyte boards have 8 SATA ports. With Optical drives also running on SATA these days, it has become essential for any board above the 10k mark to have at least 8 SATA ports.

Anyways, What RAM are you finally going for. You mentioned that you will be going for the regular Ripjaws, but I don't see an 1600MHz 8GB Kit listed on the SMC site.

This - F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL (4Gx2)

Not listed on their site, but they seemed to have one last kit which I grabbed whole heartedly. :ashamed:

Hmm.. Both RipjawsX and Corsair Vengeance seem to be available in 1 x 4GB Packs as well. Would it be wise to just pick those? Also which one should I pick considering both are available for around the same price point.

SMC quoted some 6.4k odd for the Vengeance 2 x 4GB 1600MHz CL9. It retails for 100USD after some rebate in the US, I am not shelling out 6.4k for that! The Ripjaws made sense that way. It costs the same and I got them for 5250 shipped!

Or pick up the Corsair XMS3 sticks. They fair pretty well. But why 1 x 4GB? Are you banking on 4GB or 8GB kits? The difference isn't much TBH which is why I picked up the 8GB kit. :P

--- Updated Post - Automerged ---

And careful with the Vengeance - it's tall heatspreaders may block the heatsink if it stands out wide. Like the Noctua D14 for instance.

I was originally planning to get one 8GB Kit (2 x 4GB) now and add another one a month or two later, but with no guesses on how the availability is gonna be and prices going up and down with these rams in India, I was thinking it would be better if I get all of it now itself.

I messaged SMC and he is also only offering 2 Kits of 1 x 4GB XMS3 for 5.1k. So I would any way be getting 1 x 4GB Kits.

My other alternatives are 4 Kits of 1 x 4GB RipjawsX from Prime for 11.8k or 4 Kits of 1 x 4GB Corsair Vengeance from Amarbir for about the same price. the 8GB Vengeance kits seem to be a bit more costly than a couple of 1 x 4GB kits.

I have a question if you haven't already bought your board yet. I was just browsing your first post and saw that you were going to drop in 2 HD6970s into your rig. Now doesn't Sandy Bridge only have 20 PCIEX Lanes? Meaning your cards would have to run at x8 x8. In that case, why not upgrade to 1366? Sandy Bridge is the latest and greatest right now, but I saw the Crossfire thing and I had to mention this.

^^ Yeah I know that already. Was originally in a dilemma choosing between P67 and X58. There are reasons why I chose to go with P67 as otherwise, I would have had my new rig up and running by now.

1. PCIe x8 + x8 is only slightly slower than x16 + x16. There are many benchies that show there more important factors than PCIe bandwidth to get the max out of a Multi GPU setup.

2. The new CPU's have pretty good OC potential which is really useful and essential for Multi-GPU setups.

3. The X58 Platform is soon to be replaced. If I find that X68 is attractive, I would be a lot easy to sell off an up to date main stream platform than one that just got outdated.

hey man

that is really nice deal you got but just out of curiosity is gskill is trustworthy

although i have heard of gskill but nothing as such that makes it stand out

also i have had a lot of warranty related issues with my previous rams so can you tell me how is gskill when it comes to warranty

thanks

^They are pretty good. Have had an issue before with the sticks purchased via Newegg, US and got it sorted out quick thanks to the awesome support from their HQ at Taiwan.

Well, it makes sense, but I thought you wouldnt upgrade to the next socket immediately. Besides, x8 varies from x16 only in single gpu setups by a little bit. The gap is larger in multiGPU setups at higher resolutions. Just my $0.02.

Also, IINM, Gskill is handled by the dealer. Else you'll have to get the RMA done from Taiwan directly.

^^ Any idea on who handles the RMA for GSkill in India?
