Hmm, so you're suggesting its entirely a media creation.

For this to work it has to have some degree of credibility otherwise it makes the media look stupid. So its a dbl edged sword. We don't have tabloids (in the classical sense) or paparazzi. They'd be struck down with all sorts of suits and what not.

To be enduring it has to involve real ppl with real stakes. This requires a media with freedom to do that. We do not have anywhere as independent a media as in the west.

You're never going to hear about conservative poiticians getting caught kerb crawling for gay sex or politicains big on family values getting caught having affairs. You're not seeing policians resign over scandals because the story never hits as hard as it does elsewhere.

So here we are with half baked plot with nothing tangible. Does not do it for me, move on to something else.

Observing IBN7, India TV and now Aaj Tak too following these two gossip channels (read IBN7 and India TV) there is no doubt about it :p

More over Indian media 80% follows the concept of Yellow Journalism.

Yeah but there must be some gain here otherwise why do it.

What i find is the media is usually mouthpiece for any political party out there.

Amar singh for what i can recall was the knight in shining armour for Congress during the nuke deal, he provided the support to keep the govt from falling.

Therefore his enemies are the BJP + Left + assorted other parties.

Thing is this is nearly four years old, we've had a general election since so the case is moot now.

Those channels are prolly the exeption and leaders in what you refer to as 'yellow journalism'. What about the rest ?

Do they help you connect the dots.

Have to say i understand much better what goes on abroad from foreign media than what happens here with our media :(

these are not fake , amar singh himelf confessed them to be true.
but he had also added then that the conversation though not decent both (Bips and AS) had no problems talking dirty :P and that no one was offended by it.
