Can confirm. Came across such for a few products in the past, told Amazon but they didn't do anything. Not sure if they've corrected now.

Many discrepancies related to specifications on both Flipkart and Amazon; customer should be allowed a refund in such cases without a question.

It amounts to cheating the customer, there wouldn't be much difference between Amazon and eBay in this case.

Online marketplaces need to be much more responsible coz, only the customer's money is real, rest everything is virtual ; until the product reaches the customer.

but don't the products have to go through the service center first now?

No. You have to request replacement online and Amazon will ship a replacement immediately using the fastest shipping option for the product. Meanwhile a separate guy will come to pick up the defective product.
