17900- 1790 = 16k ...how's the performance?
I ordered the same WD My Passport yesterday and it was delivered today. I have one 2 TB and one 4 TB WD Ultra portable HDDs which have been working well over the past 2-3 years. Seems like they have stopped the Ultra line which has the high end portable model and its taken up by this My Passport line. The older entry level WD Elements are still available though. As for the price these drives have been 9k+ for the majority of the past 2-3 months when I was mulling over buying one. I paid 10.5k 2 years back for the WD Ultra 4 TB. So keeping these points in mind its a good deal IMHO.The Samsung SSD is showing the price of 9675 and not 8999 that you mentioned. Am I missing something ?

And what about this 4 TB Extrenal Drive at Rs 7999 ? Is it a good deal overall ?

I paid 7999 on Citi. Might use somebody else's SBI if something lucrative offers comes up.Thanks for your quick reply bro.
Please tell the exact price that you have paid for this drive yesterday. I am also thinking about buying it. Hopefully there will be no problems in warranty, if something happens to it and I need to RMA it. I have never purchase Hard Drives online yet, so I am not sure about it.
I have got SBI card with me, so hopefully I will get extra 10 % discount as well.
