I didn't want to make another thread.

Is no one facing problems with their new hard device limit? 5 total with max 2 TV. Firestick and mi box is also considered as TV.
I have 5 TV's at home, 2 smart, 1 mi box 4k and 2 firestick 4k. More than 2 are rarely used at the same time. Now prime only works on my smart TV's. I can't watch on the rest regardless of number of streams used.
I have a full prime account and my mom has a shopping prime account at home.
I do, At any given point of time even I don't use more than 2 streams. Their device limit is so dumb, even netflix lets u login on multiple devices, but only stream on a limited number of devices, why can't they implement the same thing, what if I want to watch in a different room? I need to log out of the first device how dumb is that? Its even worse than hotstar that just prompts you with a list of devices to choose which one to log out from, they just ask you to log out manually on the device/using a browser. TF??????

And even logging back in is a pain in the butt. Hotstar is better in that category too. Just enter your number and otp. That's all. They want you to login via a browser yet again. Genius.

What bunch of fools decided that this was a good ux?

I also have 4 fire tabs, bought over the past decade. Not to mention other android/ios devices. Only my latest fire tab has it logged in now. There is also a time lock for switching devices, can't just log in log off. They should have at least increased the limit for their own ecosystem. I'm surprised no one has mentioned this here especially with the number of fire sticks sold recently on the forum.

I used to think hotstar limit is a pain before this. Not so much anymore. Youtube premium is the best in this regard.

I have not seen ads for a long time except for hotstar live sports (so annoying and so many ads are not child appropriate, at times it gets difficult watching with my son) and pvz 2 on my phone. Now prime will be added to this.

I don't mind paying more for ad free but this device limit has put me off.

Torrenting is also not what it used to be. All the major sites that I knew of have been taken down and the remaining have to be accessed through a vpn. Members please DM if I'm missing something.

I don't like the change either.

But just saying - jio hotstar player is much worse than PV.
On firestick atleast we can get very good quality - 4k + HDR. I also really like XRay.

Jio Hot star quality is ok, but worse. I can live with that.

But jio management might be brain dead.
They recently started having a permanent watermark saying - 'Asli 4k'.
Its definitely not, bitrate is probably lower vs PV. And that damn thing will lead my oled monitor to burn in if i keep using it.
From what i read, on HDR content ( which seems to be rare on jiohotstar), that thing is very bright.

Just like that they made it unusable for me for long term. Many people are complaining, there is no option to turn it off from what i can see.
That thing should be at pause menu.
I have read that Jiocinema also had a permanenet watermark, so not having high hopes that these people will remove it.

Never had any issue with PV player other than very rare case of subtitles having issues.
Piracy should not completely go away so that these people have something to compete against. Not just in price.

Not only that you need to login again, you can't change your 2 TVs for a month. You are underestimating the restrictions that Amazon has put in.

AFIK the device change restriction was not there in the older 1499 prime accounts.

My prime lapsed last year since I wasn't watching it much and I didn't think it was feasible to renew it for sporadic usage. I now see that I am eligible for the Prime Lite at 599 and Ad-prevalent Prime account for 999. In case the device limitation (can't change devices until a specific time) is there - it makes no sense for people having multiple gadgets at home. If the limitation is with the no of simultaneous logins then we can always log out of the old devices and log on in the newer ones.

Can anyone who has upgraded to prime lite or full Prime recently after the announcements elucidate regarding the device change restrictions?

Amazon Prime members in India can watch Prime Video on a total of five devices, including twoTVs. Post sign up, the first five devices you watch Prime Video content on becomes the only devices from where you can access content.

To watch Prime Video content on additional devices, PVME and Prime Lite customers can upgrade your membership by visiting primevideo.com/upgrade. Existing Prime members can sign up for another Prime membership on a new Amazon account.

To remove your current device/s and watch content on a new device, visit the Devices section on the Prime Video Account & Settings page. Identify the devices registered for Prime, Prime Video Mobile Edition or Prime Lite (with a blue tick), and select "Remove." You can remove up to 2 devices in a 30-day period.
