EA's stock price rose when the news initially broke out, then fell when it was confirmed to be not true. Anyways the day's long gone & there was no announcement.

EA is not going to sell themselves short.
They are talking with many other, including Apple, Sony. etc. lets say who gets to buy EA.
Although amazing is still pretty much on top of the buying them, internally EA has lots of overheads and dead-weights.. it wont be easy for them to get the "premium" what they expecting.

Expect something in September mid.
