I thought this was an Opteron Queries thread, not a "Made by Anish" thread :ohyeah:

On a serious note, when shifting posts into an existing thread.. the post with the oldest date/time gets first priority in the thread. Hence his post is right up there.

Nope not really. Opteron 1xx series come in both Socket 940 and Scket 939 flavours.
 
^^ You can go through this thread for all my results, but the board and RAM is holding me back. I strongly feel that this chip can do atleast ~2.8-2.9 stable..
 
Flash to an older BIOS Anish. I found the best BIOS to be 1009. But then , older BIOses may not recognise the Opty.
 
^^ Yes Nikhil, 1009 is THE BEST BIOS for the A8V, infact its the ONLY BIOS which allows RAM at 1:1 over 270HTT.

Sadly only the 1017 will recognise the Opty and with an older BIOS I'll be able to boot with only 1 stick of RAM in the 3rd slot.
 
hmm nice anish.

so is anybody selling a good heatsink like si120 or tt big typhoon or something else let me know.
 
Anybody wants cooler master Hyper 6+/Hyper 48 then do let me know... Both are pretty good but not in the same league... The Cooler master distris are out of those as of now but are getting some pieces soon...
 
Why not get the Thermaltake Big typhoon? They only cost Rs. 2000 compared to 3-3.5k for the CM ones. The TT BT is also by far the best HSF on the market.
 
Prime stocks Coolermaster and Antec goodies.

Hyper 6 and Hyper 48+'s are the only good coolers available in India.

Id suggest you guys go for one of em.
 
yep TT products are not available here.

BTW guys if you guys seriously want the good HSF why dont some of you guys come together and place a group order at sidewinders. Anyone person with cc and paypal account can place the order. Thats what i did with few friends a while ago. expecting shipment in a day or two. Some peeps are gona be happy :P

congrats sunny, 144 opty, first on TE or what, all others seem to be 146 :)

the box looks like it has gone thru' hell to reach you ;)
