Go to BIOS

And set ACC to AUTO

You can find the ACC option in the T-Series Tab if you are using a Biostar TA790G series Mobo

Just save and reboot and you are ready to go if the system boots properly

Install AMD Overdrive and run the Stability Test :)

Open Bios -> Overclocking Section -> Advance Clock Calibration -> Auto

This is the basic step of unlocking you can vary HT Speed and ACC level if you are unable to unlock.

Which motherboard and what is the processor batch no ?

hi guys,
i have a 0915FPMW series x2 550 BE. any one tried unlocking this series?
i have ordered a Biostar TA790GXBE motherboard.
im still waiting for my motherboard to arrive to try unlocking..

while searching for the same on the net, i have came across a consolidated list of x2 550 unlocks.

X2 550 Unlocking & Overclocking Consolidated - XtremeSystems Forums

in the bottom part of the list one guy was able to unlock the 550BE with same stepping as mine. he also have the same motherboard as mine. Does this mean that i can unlock too??

also, does anyone know which series is newer? 0915 or 0924?

after some searching, i found out that 0924 is newer. 0924 means 24th week of 2009.

as per some guy inside AMD, newer steppings overclock better. but the ability to unlock cores are more or less dependent on the particular chip itself.

i got the motherboard today. After flashing with an older bios, i was able to unlock the extra 2 cores :)

i didnt get time to check about stability. I didnt have any hard disk or CD Drive to install windows and check. so i booted up from USB Daam Small Linux and run the board for some time. no BSOD or crash so far. My Processor batch is 0915FPMW.

i have one doubt. I have reduced the HT Link speed to 1.6GHz while unlocking the core. How much will it affect the performance?

any idea where to get the older bios versions for BIOSTAR ? ,

i am unable to unlock the 4th core in my 720BE and the board (790GX A3+) came with the latest bios out of the box.

Today i tried to unlock my Phenom II 550 BE with mobo biostar TA 790 GX 128 M. i changed ACC to auto and rebooted it booted without any prob. but cpuz still shows that calisto and only 2 cores. can any body help me?

@knairkuttan

which bios version are u using? if u are using the latest bios, then you will get 2 cores only even after you enable ACC.

if u update your bios with an older version, may be you can unlock it.

also, can u specify the processor batch?

cpuz has got nothing to do.

you need proper bios.

try This one

also... set ACC to Auto...

and change HT link speed = 1.6GHz otherwise it may not boot..

in that case... reset cmos

No Luck man.. the comp wont post with ACC enabled on this bios. Maybe this proc wont unlock....

rolled back to the original bios...

yup

sure.

jst make sure, u are using the unlockable moded bios file.

cheapest unlocking mobo is bio 785G at around 4.2k. its as good as any bio 790GX mobo in unlocking and ocing.

dOm1naTOr's......

dude am getting the biostar ta785ge 128m for 3050 n 550be for only 5200....is that k ryt????

holy moly!!!

TA785GE 128 for 3k!!!

thats best deal of the year. go for it.

the proccy price is ok, but the mobo price seems almost more than 1k less than market price. There is high probability, that it might be biostar A785G, and not TA 785GE 128. The former isnt really worth if u plan on unlocking coz it wont be much stable.
