Friends, I am looking for a good motherboard for my Phenom II BE 720 which must have the ability to unlock 4th core. Budjet- 4k to 5k

The processor's batch no is - 0906EPMW

Will unlocking 4th core increases the system speed??

Thanks in advance.

Try getting MSI 785G-E65(~5k) or MSI 785GM-E65(~4k) is available.

I am also interested buying this mobo. Let me also know if you been able to find it.

Biostar 785 GE has 128MB sideport, and im talking bout the same model. Got one for my cousin last day for 3.65k

Biostar 985G is a replacement for older 780G, hence its a micro ATX mobo and no CF support.

ive found almost 90% oc features on 785 mobo compared to my 790GX [full ATX].

Also the IGP of 790GX which is HD 3300 is bit powerful than HD 4200 despite being DX 10.1[HD 4200] , former being just DX 10.0.

HD 4200 is same as old HD 3200[in 780G], with some minor tweaks for DX 10.1 support.

Anyway u can oc both HD 3300, and HD 4200.

Have seen reviews where they took the IGP from default 550mhz whole the way upto 900mhz and even higher by attaching a fan on the cooler. At bout 950 mhz it tends to beat the HD 4350 almost.

Both have 128MB sideport memory. [biostar 790GXBE and GXB A2+ are exceptions with 64MB sideport].

but does biostar 785GE has AAC options listed in bios ... i had,nt seen user reviews regarding its acc options displayed in bios and working for unlocking

my suggestion- go for biostar TA790GX 128M DDR2 Mobo which fits in your budget and is the best of all.

for processor unlocking info go here.

and after purchasing the mob, if it doesnt unlocks the 4th core then go here.

There downgrade your bios version to the old ones or the modded ones and try it. Works 100% provided your processor has the 4th core.

## Now companies have started to disable their boards ability to unlock any hidden cores no matter if ACC is kept to any settings or whatever extras, the system simply wont boot.

My advice is stick to your dual and tri cores rather than going mad behind unlocking and scratching every bit of your brains behind that silly hidden core. Don't screw up your dear mobo and proccy. If you really want a true quad core then better buy it and get 100% peace of mind. :hap2:

u wont screw up ny mobo or proccy by trying to unlock. But watch for the temps while OCing.

i know

by screwing up means dont do any RnD just for that single core unless you are familiar with what you are upto else definitely you might mess it all.

Oc and enjoy your stock machine :D

Some have unlocked hidden cores bt aren't successful OCing them rather, stock OCs like anything.

unlocked X2 550BE is as good as 955BE which costs 8k+ above 550BE so people are going to try their luck no matter what.

Most mobos comes with dual Bios (or similar features to recover from bios issues.)

CPU unlocking is from within bios and no change is made to its architecture so CPU is safe as long as one is aware of voltages and temperatures..

Thus Unlocking to me(and most of us) seems safer than OverClocking... It may look unsafe for an average Joe but that doesn't make it taboo for most of us to explore :P

By The Way... aren't you the one who posted http://www.techenclave.com/cpu-mobo-corner/modded-bios-biostar-mobos-unlock-amd-144515.html which was again totally ripped off from XS Forum Source without any mention of link :|
