nothing like that the Athlon II even after lacking the L3 cache puts up commendable performance in Single Thread apps, getting the Atlon II x4 635/640/645 is what I really recommend for current usage as multi threading will only increase and Core unlock isn't always gauranteed ~ warranty and stability issuesdevvfata1ity said:if u plan to game only then go for the 550be n try to unlock it. bt if u wanna do a lot of productivity work like encoding, rendering etc then go for the 635, the extra core will help.
Even in gaming Athlon II x4 640 outperforms Phenom II x2 560... So buying an AMD Phenom II x2 555 wont b a good choice in my opinion... AND there is not even 100% possibility that it will unlock into x4...devvfata1ity said:if u plan to game only then go for the 550be n try to unlock it. bt if u wanna do a lot of productivity work like encoding, rendering etc then go for the 635, the extra core will help.
There are games which takes advantage of more than two cores otherwise the performance difference between x2 560 and x4 640 wudnt have been this great... x4 640 outperforms x2 560 in almost all the games...Spectre said:How much of an overclock potential Athlons have
I can push my Phenom X2 555 to 4Ghz comfortably. Higher clocks will provide better performance, and most games dont really make use of more than 2 cores.
I would take the proccy which overclocks the best
