CPU/Mobo AMD Server Config

Ahem.. I know a person running a server on a Athlon XP with an MSI nForce 2 board.

His current uptime (i called him today morning) was 1.6 years.

well wqhat kind of services is he running?
ftp http?
the config i said is likely to be a lil high end server but for nomal work as funky said opty 144 is enuff so id 1 gig ram but mobo is the key here .. .also the psu get the best psu available i agree with tht totally.
either zebby 640 or antec neo he500.

You guys are absolutely correct.... Good PSU is the key...

I wanted to go with good mobo because sometimes i just feel the other components can be upgraded to remove bottlenecks but most of the time mobo is the bottleneck.... What do you guys say ???

Ya i will be doing RAID but that will be mostly software RAID and according to traffic needs we may scale up later and make this as a dedicated Mail / FTP server....
