CPU/Mobo AMD Turion 64 Notebooks Ship

Hewlett-Packard Co. is growing the parts of its hardware product lines that use processors from Advanced Micro Devices Inc.

HP on Wednesday is outfitting several new and existing servers with AMD's dual-core Opteron chips. In addition, the Palo Alto, Calif., company is rolling out its first commercial laptop powered by AMD's Turion 64 processor.

Dont tell me you're considering buying the laptop just for the chip! If you have sources in the US, you could get it separately, else unfortunately in India buyin the laptop may be your only choice :P

Also the Turion chips shouldnt really be considered, they arent like other Mobile Athlon chips. AMD themselves have mentioned that the Turions are specifically low power chips and use "low-power transistors" in the chip which dont tend to overclock much, so you wont see any great overclocks with it.
The Newarks are the only decent Mobile chips around - they're based off the San Diego core. I think there are lower end models equivalent to the Winchester cores and NOT turions, dont quite reember.
