PC Peripherals AMD upgrade for Multimedia ?

ditch am2 ... try to get a 3800+ or a 4200+ dunno personally but someone said that the 4200+ are available easier than 3800
 
I think Mask's Advice is very good.

If you are not looking at a complete upgrade, and most bang for buck, then a simple switch to an Opteron 165 or 175 -Depending on your budget is the best way to go.

As for availability, I doubt you will see 939 X2 any more in India, officially. But the 165 at below 11K for a brand new one seems maximum value for money. and OC that to have a rocking encoding system. The 175 should be around 14500K or lower. But i think overclocking the 165 makes more sense.
 
thanks guys but its too expensive... I think I'll have to wait out till new year & see how things settle in mobo cpu front, this time I dont wanna upgrade to something which will become extinct in a year, i guess

thanks for all you guys help... for the moment my upgrade urge is satisfied by a 7600gs & hp 4370 scanner, lol I know none will help my cause but they helped being in my budget:hap2:
