i will be posting screenshots by tomorrow.

The reason i am using AMDcoolnQuiet is coz i dont wanna burn the cpu running constantly at a 3.0 ghz OC and at high temps

I have OC'ed the CU so that it runs most normal tasks at a lower speed and intensive tasks are handled also well as the cpu speeds up to 3.0 as and when reqd.

Guys correct me if I am wrong her....

is over volting really neccesary for OC ur cpu coz i just use 3.0 with my Q6600 and iam good to go with no volt modding
 
Ok. the pin mods are phail bcoz AMD has not made the AM2 functional data sheet 31117 public.

If someone has info on pin mods for undervolting AM2s, please post.

My motherboard has no voltage settings and I run my AM2 oced at the stock 1.35V. Only way I found to undervolt was using A64InfoMod v0.62. This piece of software was not exactly made for AM2s so the voltage values are not accurate.eg. 1.3V (A64) corresponds to 1.35V for AM2.

However the voltage drop per notch is correct.

Using this I undervolted my oced 4000+ to 1.3V :hap2: . temps dropped by 3-5 degrees. :clap:

I knew there was some headroom at 1.35V.

However it can mess up your dram timings and make your system unstable so be careful with it. It did not work for me with the command line option so I am forced to apply my settings dirtily using ahk at startup.

I am sure underclocked proccies would undervolt just fine.

guys a final FYI on my temps.
CoolnQuiet enabled:

idle : 42 deg cel
load: max 57 deg cel

CPU running from 1350MHZ-3000MHZ

The problem seems to me like either a processor fan issue or heatsink placement or some serious airflow issues in the cabinet...

Could u please elaborate a bit with some screenies so that we can help u better.
