AMD's reportedly launching three new Budget Oriented Ryzen 5000 series CPUs to regain the value crown

As said in comments for the article. It's too late for these and even the 3D cache chip is pointless now. If it was a year ago then it would have meant something.

Even if they launch them and at reasonable rates internationally I don't believe for a moment that the prices will be the same here.

Slightly OT, but does anyone know why Intel's low end 12th gen chips with iGPUs are not yet available anywhere online? I only see 12100F and not the 12100 SKU, everywhere I checked.

I am confusing about this naming methodology Intel is following for their i3 and i5 chips. Pretty confusing indeed.

Will these be based upon the 5600g & 5700g? If that is the case, they shouldn't even bother with this release. If it is actually based upon the 5600x & 5800x, unlikely as these had very good yields even a year back, I wonder why they simply don't lower the prices so late in the life cycle of these products. Intel has really priced their CPU very well this time specially at the segment which AMD completely abandoned & are not trying to cater to.

Time & again we see that being a fanboy never benefits anyone & we really need good competition to get good value products.

If it is not just cores count and the fight is for performance then a 12700 KF @ 33k beats the 5900X which is being sold for 44k. Simlarly 12900 KF @ 50k beats 5950X which is being sold now for 61k. Maybe AMD became greedy like Intel did before AMD came-up with Ryzen, history repeats itself in good and bad ways both. I was earlier planning for 5950X but now have changed my mind to Intel.

Very true, they should hold the title of performance/dollar king only for a generation at most xD. Intel chips were so cheap and good since 10th gen thanks to AMD.

New CPUs launched, looks like the 5700x is the real winner here... launching at $300 i.e. same price as 5600x & is essentially a 5800x with slight cuts in clock speeds which wouldn't matter in practice.

But in India it'll cost at least 25k or higher. In that case which is a better option 12600k or 5700x?
the new AMD releases will take a while to get their prices normalized (by that time Intel next lake or pond will arrive), until then intel 12400f and 12700f (12 core for 28k) are best buy. 5700x will be a sweet buy at 24k but it will be more like 27-30k.
