AMD's Ryzen 5000 series gets price cut in wake of Alder Lake launch

Is it a good idea to replace my 3900X with a 5800X3D and my 3200 MHz CL14 8x2 GB kit with a CL16-19-19-39 16x2 GB kit?
Usage is mostly gaming.

I am planning to stick to AM4 for quite some time and it seems that DDR4 memory will soon go extinct.
5800x3D is current the best CPU for gaming unless you plan to get top-end CPUs like 13th gen i9. few things to consider - get this CPU if you plan to get high end GPU. no point getting such CPU and you are sticking 3060 equivalent or less. Ryzen 5 and such CPUs are enough for those.

for memory - it really comes down to your usage, for just gaming 16GB is enough but if you do rendering or lot of multitasking where you don't like to turn system resources off then more ram is better. In 2 years ddr5 will become the new standard so your 32gb will not be used much unless you don't plan to upgrade for 4-5 years.

DDR4 will not Die anytime soon - I recently, on July upgraded from my 8-9-year-old PC which was on ddr3. so I believe a lot of people are still on ddr3 and will move on ddr4 as it becomes cheaper when ddr5 becomes more demanded.

Ok since I didn't clarify my rig setup leading to this confusion-
Started off with Ryzen 1700X,3200 MHz CL14 8x2 GB kit and GTX 1070 on a Asus CH6 Hero board.
Switched to 3900X and RTX 2080 on same mobo.
Then switched out my mobo a year back for a Asus ROG STRIX B550-F Gaming Wifi

I guess the RAM doesn't need upgrading to 32 gigs then. However I see CL16-16-16-36 3600 kits being OoS and getting a bit of FOMO that these good DDR4 kits with Samsung B-die will be impossible to get down the line.

I saw the reviews where RTX 4090 is being bottlenecked by 1700/2700 CPUs and thought of preemptvely upgrading my CPU to the best AM4 gaming CPU on market now.
Although I will not be spending RTX 4090 levels of money but I have been eyeing the RTX 3070 Ti a lot.

you should be eyeing the 7900 XT(will have to wait for performance and indian pricing) or 3080 (best future proofing for 1440p gaming). 3070Ti is Best 'waste of money' example. bare minimum performance gain over 3070 while costing 40-50w more power and almost 10k rupees extra.

also you seem to love upgrading something each year then yea currently buying 32gigs would be waste for you.

Saw an 5800x3d listed at 34k. Maybe you can sell the 3900x @18 to 20k and buy new 5800x3d

Why do discounts/ price cuts take so long to be passed onto consumers in india as opposed to in US, if at all? Price hikes are usually reflected immediately.

The first great wall is greedy distributors ! Second great wall is even greedy dealers. This is for most cases. In few cases manufactuers themselves don't pass it to India sooner
